How do y'all budget on how much it should cost to furnish a new home / townhome from scratch? I have a 3bed, 3 bath about 1,600 sq ft. Trying to not break the bank and set a realistic budget.

I'm prepping for a final discussion with a fund and need some help with a few questions.
1)Where would you put 500m now ?
-logistics real estate in airport cities (roll up and upgrade storage units)
-tech infrastructure (data centres, dark fibre etc)
-D2C consumer
-industrials (cement, plastics etc) - as esg kicks in money will get pulled out but prospects will grow as the big infra boom kicks off
-agri commodity owners and producers

Does anyone have good experience with insurance bought for parents? Specifically asking if someone has had to use it.

I got offered by my financial advisor to enter a closed private equity fund that has the objective (not guarantee) to 2x the capital in 10 years. That would mean a consistent 7.2% p.a. though I won't be able to sell, which is not a problem.

Do you think it's worth it?

I use this financial advisor because he's a family friend and I pay close to no fee and it was a nice way of getting into investing.

I selected new tax regime in the company 'xyz' portal for April 2021-March 2022. I left this company in jan 2022 and tax of 16k got deducted from F&F settlement.

I have investment in EPF and submitted the rent receipts to the company for tax exception for HRA. But in F&F, based on new regime tax deducted.

During filing ITR for assessment year 2022-2023, can I file by selecting old regime and get this 16k return?

I am filing my taxes first time this year in US, do I have to report the gains on the EPF accounts?

And would I be taxed in US for that??

At what point does it not make sense to buy/ build a bigger home? My husband dislikes our house immensely (was his with former wife) and wants to move. Only owes $180k on it, we’ve been together 6 years and thus I’d rather just remodel. It’s the only thing we disagree about - moving or staying. He doesn’t want to invest one more cent in this house.

Anyone else feel depressed over crypto? I bought maybe 8k worth in 2017, watched it go to 32k and then drop back to 8 and then to a low of 3k during the pandemic. I often averaged down, especially last year after i realized that they were climbing back up after the pandemic drop. At the end of 2020, my fiancée and i had huge costs with a lot of life changes, and made the decision to sell crypto since it was finally green and things with it felt a lot more uncertain than they do now.

Bio: About to finish my first year (23y) in a few months and have 10k in a 401(k) plan and 28k in a checking account (I attribute living at home for most of my savings). I have 19k in private loans (5-6%) and 35k in federal loans (4-5%, 0% rn) from UG.
