Thoughts on WeWork or Warby Parker Strategy Manager Roles v. Growth Associate for Ubereats?

Uber, before the other 2 (then WeWork before Warby Parker). Best equity opportunity here.

like

Wework for sure

Where do you work now?

ACN, 2 years in

We work will go public in 1-2 years. With decent equity, I say promising choice

WeWork I guess is super selective. To me
Warby or Uber sound the coolest though.

Everyone I know that works for Uber HQ kind of suck - also likely a high strike price for shares. go for wework

WeWork’s equity is largely tied into the worth of their real estate portfolio. They are not a coworking company, they are a cleverly disguised real estate company.

Uber has the real potential and ambition out of the two. I can’t think of one company that jumped from 70b to 120b pre ipo. Sure, that may be overreaching, but this is what Wall Street is evaluating them at

I feel like asking the owner for measurements is an up hill battle. I work for a sign shop. A lot of times I’ll be giving a number by “whatever”. For example 4’ by whatever. I work remotely, clients don’t give the owner measurements and he rarely asks. I keep asking but he repeats the partial measurements adding “just” in front it. It’s frustrating. Recently I was asked to fill a wall with 20 pics for a luxury home whose walls are big. It’s a large wall, we just need various sizes he replied

I moved out to the suburbs about 7 months ago. Between that and the pandemic I have lost touch with friends. I reach out as get “yea let’s hang” but when it comes to making definite plans, crickets. It’s been hard because work is so busy and I have my partners children around too. Struggling to reconnect now that ppl are hanging out again and I don’t get invited. Feeling super isolated and lonely.

Looking at exits into pharma and biotech. Have an opp at a biotech at the SM level. Total comp excluding equity is around $190k; RSUs vest over 4 years with annual refreshers, so first year equity would be around $6,200 and it would go up by $6,200 each of the next 3 years, plus whatever base bump I get. Very good benefits package.

They envision 2-3 years before I jump either to AD or right to D. Solid opp? Or hold out to go straight to director level?

Hi folks. I’m a data scientist at a T2/B4 firm that does fairly technical work. I am prepping for interviews to transition to SWE-data at a big tech company and currently have a little over 1 yoe.

Since prep usually takes a while for swe, I have not started seriously applying. However, I am likely to receive an offer for 110-120k at another consulting firm. I was hoping to get some thoughts from other technical folks that made the transition. More in comments

Hey Everyone!
I’m coming up on one year of working in consulting post under grad in a financial services vertical. I know I want to transition to corporate strategy down the road, but don’t have much interest in financial service strategy. Should I try and switch into a more applicable practice such as M&A or operations? Will I be able to break into corporate strategy without any past experience in that industry?
