Parent died with accounts at Fidelity Investments. FYI Fidelity made one of the hardest periods of my life worse—“lost” documents, inconsistent policies, four days to respond to an email, non-communication between teams, outright lies. I don’t know how an organizational process can be so mismanaged. They have literal interns (mis)handling the entire transfer process.

It's a great hub city for international talent (like Amsterdam used to be) and it's a centre for serving German / Austrian / Swiss markets. You also have international brands like Spotify and Google that want creative-led agencies to work on projects for the German market.
I guess Brexit plays a role in this. Hiring European talent just got much harder, so opening offices on mainland Europe makes sense in the war for talent, imo
A&E won Deutsche Telekom, and I reckon a dedicated office was part of their pitch - it makes a lot of sense to have a team on the ground there. Perhaps the same is true for Mother? There are plenty of massive companies in Germany, and it’s getting harder and harder to attract talent to London (and the paper work is probably a nightmare too).
not to argue with you, but "won" isn't quite the right word. DDB Hamburg had been the AOR for Telekom for a looong time, with some projects going to A&E sometimes (and Saatchi, but that's a different story). Now that DDB Germany is being restructured I think they just moved the business fully to A&E.
Most of the work done at A&E Berlin will be done by its staff in London.
