I am living in joint setup where my father,my younger brother his wife and children ,my wife and children live under same roof.
My father has been too much loud,aggressive whole life he doesnt have much relation with relatives also.I lost my mother 3 years back.
Younger brother works along with father in business.
I am working in IT annual salary 25lpa , my image has been made that I am enjoying my life high end life by brother wife

Anyone here choose between A&M, Alix, and some other usual suspect consulting companies? What made you pick A&M? Do employees generally tend to stick around? Is there a term used when you apply for a job with a change in title, the recruiter tells you you seem more in line with an “experienced” title of what you currently are, makes you go through 4 interviews, and when you get told they want you they also slide in that the salary you wanted at the beginning was for a senior role and since you are now applying as experienced the highest they can go is bs compared to your current salary
How is EY’s year end bonus these days?
I have been a software developer (professionally) for about 7 years now, but I’ve decided to move out from that job and do something else (still in tech).
I don’t know yet what to do exactly, but I know I just don’t want to be only writing code every day.
Tbh, I am scared. But I have set myself one year to learn something new.

I accepted an offer from Morgan Stanley in mid-October. Currently in the background check process for them but 3 years ago I was arrested for something that was dismissed by a judge & not reportable to FINRA. Obviously when they ran my background check this came up and I was questioned by MS HR. I provided them everything they asked for a week ago but I have still not heard anything about a start date or if they'll rescind the offer. Has anyone experienced this? I'm an SAP EDI Consultant with OTC, LE and PTP functional knowledge, strong EDI skills and I know ABAP enough to debug things on my own. I have even led EDI projects with a team of 6-8 , but It's becoming very difficult to find roles close to my expertise. Any leads are appreciated.

A managing partner at my firm told one of the senior associates that she expects attorneys to provide six months' notice for leaving a firm. This seems extreme and basically impossible. Has anyone encountered this type of timeline?
ID associates who are near the partner-level experience tier (5-10 YOE): what’s your salary, bonus, billable hours (required and actually billed), and cost of living in your area? I’m talking about low tier ID, not coverage or anything like that. Stuff like slip and fall tort defense.
I received a fixed penalty notice from the border force in UK for 10k euro for a Covid reg violation for flying into the airport via a non designated port from a red list country (Greece). I was only passing through as a connecting flight, which was allowed under current regulation, on my way back to the states. I attempted to appeal but border force said there is no appeal process. The only two options is to pay the fine or they will impose a criminal penalty then have legal recourse.
Given recent events that have unfolded, I’m wondering how many attorneys out there feel like they have ever been in danger because of a matter they’ve handled? Especially crim / domestic practitioners

I am a junior lateraling to another firm. Do I HAVE to take a client from my former employer to the new employer? Client signed a retainer with the firm, but I signed on behalf of the firm. It was a cold call to the firm and I am the only one who handled the file. The new firm does not do this work. Current firm does. Overdue on bill. Current firm said they don’t want the client.
Is it legal/ethical/normal for a firm to take out a life insurance policy on an employee it finds out has been battling serious health issues (and has the employee reluctantly sign a consent to it)?

I have a case with an easy out for the judge plus a constitutional issue. I cite a case that says it's unconstitutional but don't go into the more complex issues. Is it worth it to go into complex issues and or just stick with the basic ones and if need be to more complex analysis on appeal.
I overheard a small law firm owner saying he will never hire women because the last female attorney he hired ended up being pregnant, and left the firm immediately after her maternity leave was over. How is this kind of discrimination still going on? How could we address this? One thing I can think of is mandatory parental leave regardless of gender, but I doubt it’ll ever happen in the US.
