Have been to both, prefer CR. Harder to do beach and forest too in Belize. Easy in CR, although snorkeling a lot better in B. CR has fabulous adventure activities like zip lines, wildlife, jet ski, horses etc. Manuel Antonio Nat’l Park is gorgeous - tons to do. Monteverde is nice too. Depends on what you like. If focused on snorkeling/ diving, Belize, if want lots of other stuff with wildlife like sloths, monkeys, gorgeous birds, crocs, do CR
I’ve never been to CR but Belize was fantastic! I went with four girlfriends M-Sat and we stayed at Pelican Reef Villas in Ambergris Caye (this resort ensured we had a driver the entire time), we did snorkeling and swimming with sharks on the island and then went to San Pedro for a day at the ruins/cave tubing, then spent a day exploring Caye Caulker. I think a lot of the islands are amazing but I highly recommend our resort! We were very taken care of :)
One thing to note is that Belize is harder to do both rainforest and beach together in less than a week. You can do day trips to either but the roads aren’t great so it’s a slow drive. Plus it’s super cool to stay in a rainforest lodge
How adventurous are you? I highly recommend the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica if you can swing it. It's original/primary rainforest and a magical place. Hire a guide. Let me know if you want more recommendations on coming/going and where to stay
EY1 you might become their safety concern if you go with.
Boy fish here. Take me with you and I'll take care of any safety concerns 😁
Both are awesome. Belize was cooler IMO since it’s less populated and tourism is still growing. Pretty safe as well
I enjoyed my time in Manuel Antonio and Arenal volcano in Costa Rica.

Looks like it’s CR! Thanks all

No safety concerns, I recommend Las Tortugas in Playa Grande
(costa Rica)
Costa Rica is super cool, perfect mix of adventure and beach time if you hang on the southern coast.

Belize. Start around San Ignacio for a rainforest experience and catch the small plane from San Ignacio to San Pedro on the beach.

I bummed rides from locals in Costa Rica (single woman). It was really friendly and safe. I loved the arenal volcano area.
