I really liked PWC 1’s response on this thread! Maybe she’s just telling you this was a big day, and she’s tired. Hopefully she’ll transition out of it soon.

Hi!! I’m glad you thought it was helpful
This was my exact same experience when we started preschool. I think they have to focus so much on behaving at school that they unleash as soon as they are back in their comfort zone. It will get better!
Also let the nanny earn her paycheck and deal with the tantrums :)

She’s just letting out a lot of feelings because she’s back in a safe space ❤️ it says a lot about her relationship with her nanny that she feels safe enough with her to do that. I’m sure it’ll get better with time as going to school becomes more routine and less tiring.
I had a two-year-old go to preschool this year too. We had to put blackout curtains in his room and have nap time as soon as he got home. He’s been great ever since. It’s not the solution for every kiddo, but mine was a grump from being mentally busy all morning.
I just heard the phrase “restraint collapse” from Elizabeth Holmes who is actually a royal reporter but writes about motherhood too
