That's a good point. And yeah that's something I have been asking myself and trying to get in with a therapist now. I can't leave the practice of law yet but need to find a way to cope and to view my job another way instead of as a prison

You could always pivot to teaching and academia in law.
I mean this may sound crazy but a month into my anxiety medicine at a low dose and some respect earned from my supervisors made me second guess wanting to leave all together. There’s no shame in talking to someone if it’s a different issue.
I'm in a very good firm with a very healthy environment, so I should be happy but I'm just not. I do plan to see a therapist to help sort this. Would really need to spend a long time thinking about leaving law before actually doing it
Take some time off or try something different.
I'm going to be using this long weekend to really do some thinking. I am a creative person and was on the creativity writing track before law school, so the fact that law lacks creativity doesn't help.
Teach. Or do something totally different. What do you enjoy?
I love to write. I try to write in my in my spare time, but I don't seem to have much of that.
There are so many different types of law adjacent jobs you could try where you wouldn't be practicing. What's your current practice area?
I am currently doing labor and employment law. I do like the law, just not he practicing/court aspect.
