I'm a petroleum engineer who has mainly worked in the field, only a bit of BD but never into sales until couple months ago, when I got the opportunity to join a startup. Is it average to hit Consultant to M promo in 2 years? Spent the entire last year working solid 65+ hour weeks across delivery, BD work, community of practice, mentoring, etc, to try to craft the perfect story. Got DA tag last year and at progression point B. Had a call with my CC yesterday and she said we can try for accelerated progression and that she would not put me up for promo. I know I’m being selfish but I tried to accomplish all the priorities that she outlined last year for M promo.

Hello, I just had to vent a little and maybe ask for your opinion. So I’ve been working at my job for four years now and I’ve never gotten a promotion. On top of this, I do extra duties that my coworkers don’t do and struggle with the work load. I feel like I’m being taken advantage of and am not sure what to do. I feel like going to my boss and refusing to continue to do these extra tasks without extra compensation. Am I being a baby about this?
