Josh Donaldson has a pretty strong track record of running his mouth and creating incidents. And a week ago started an incident by pushing Anderson off the bag on a play at 3rd. Im sure he deserves the benefit of the doubt in an incident where he ran his mouth towards the most high profile black player in baseball.

You might be right about all that. But if you roll the footage, you’ll see that he tries to tell Tim that he didn’t mean to hurt him or anything and tried to apologize. Even in the postgame interviews, he said he didn’t mean anything. JD is nowhere near perfect and I was never a fan of the things he has said but in that situation at third, he took responsibility and was not the aggressor

To all the people twisting themselves into pretzels to defend Josh Donaldson, stop and just listen. Your opinion of this doesn’t matter. I know that’s hard for you to hear but it’s true whether you believe it or not. Tim Anderson is telling you how HE took Donaldson’s words and that’s what matters.

funny

Baseball players either have the thinnest skin or will rip your heart out, that said Anderson isn't as good as Jackie Robinson

Y’all are missing the point. JD never said he’s not a good player. No one is saying tim isn’t a good player. Just saying that he’s being a hypocrite for complaining about Donaldson calling him Jackie after tim called himself modern day Jackie

Not a Donaldson or Anderson fan. But man…Tim Anderson had that coming. You don’t compare yourself as a legit legend who endured more than any of us can imagine since you get hit or talked about every now and again for your style of play and bat flips (which Donaldson is also known for)

Eh. Don't care if it's racist but Josh Donaldson needs to have his mouth punched in every once in a while.

Probably lol. But I’m a Yankee fan so I don’t care as long as he produces and he’s on our side

Why is no one considering that taunting someone using a nickname that carries with it racially-loaded social context could reasonably be construed as a racist comment? Doesn’t matter if Tim compared himself to Jackie Robinson previously or not - JD calling him Jackie is disrespectful.

This wouldn’t be a conversation about being racist or disrespectful if JD was any other race. And before you lost your cool, I’m not white. I’m a minority

It only got under his skin because they are 19-20. If they were playing well, he would have said something smart back to Donaldson and it would be over. Instead, he went with the media angle. Attention, sympathy? Whatever it is, it’s better than talking about how they aren’t playing very good baseball.

Clearly you’ve never played the sport. Plus he called himself the modern day Jackie Robinson. He should expect some flak for saying something that stupid

Senior associate in big law government investigations practice. Current firm situation is not great and thinking about making the jump for an opening in the criminal division at the US attorneys office. I have always thought about going to the government, but have worked in big law my entire career and am very nervous about how different the atmosphere will be at the government, not to mention the pay cut I’ll have to take. Any advice?
