Time for a new to me car, looking for a spacious luxury sedan that has some guts to it. Going used I’m willing to spend 75ish, what do you have that you love? Audi A7, Porsche Panamera, and Tesla model S are currently the main contenders

Tesla is in a totally different category as the Audi and Porsche so I won’t touch that. The only thing I’d say is if you really want spacious+luxury+power in a used car, also take a look at a Mercedes-Benz s550 … especially if you go 2-3 years old and look at features like the Bang Olufsen sound systems, Designo leather, etc

like

I had a 2013 CLS 550 a few years ago and absolutely loved it. If I were to shop again for a new sedan or coupe type car that would definitely be in my list. I do love the panamera though just no first hand experience. Both my fiancé and I loved my CLS so you will definitely not be disappointed.

The Audi S7 is one of the most beautiful cars on the road in my opinion, at least in the luxury sedan / coupe segment. The look will age well too.

Used Panamera Sport Turismo

like

It’s the wagon version, they have 4 and 4s versions of it as well.

like

RS7 or bust

like

If someone explicitly states they want a luxury car why recommend an excessively expensive borderline track car that they aren’t considering? Not everyone is trying to check their lap times and RS7 maintenance will be 2-3x that of an A7. You gotta read your audience

Dont get tesla unless you are low test. I’m a bimmer guy myself but a Panamera would also do it. Id probably get a few year old m5.

funnylike

I’m seeing them more in the mid 80-90s with low miles 18 or newer, also I live where there is snow so I can only cut off people safely for 6-7 months a year, not worth getting the Bimmer then :)

Alfa giulia quadrifoglio! Plenty of character and unique

Genesis G80

VP1, do you own one? What are the things you like about it?

A7 and the sport variants are so sexy

like

Headroom is fine for me, just no one can fit behind me because of where the seat has to be. Otherwise I probably would have already bought one of those.

Just throwing it out there, but I think the Cadillac CT6 looks dope! A true American luxury sedan.

That’s kinda my thought as well, although I will say it’s a big step in the right direction from the Deville’s and DTS models that my grandpa thought were cool. Lincoln, Cadillac, and GMC are doing fine in the SUV game but they just can’t stand up to the Germans in this range from what I’ve seen

like

Lexus LS460. Power, quality, and the reliability of Japanese car makers. I'm on my second and drove my first one to 280,000

like

I’m honestly surprised you’re the first one who has said Lexus, I do like the look of them and they are reliable as hell. But can they go fast like Ricky Bobby?

If you have driven a Tesla, I fail to understand why the other two would even be in contention.

like

Tesla’s are the most lifeless boring cars I’ve ever driven. Not sure why you would buy a Tesla unless you are 60+ years old and don’t prioritize fun at all.

2020 Audi S6/7, 2016 Audi RS 7, 2017 MB S-63, 2018 BMW M5, and 2018 Panamera 4S. If space is the problem why not a performance SUV?

like

My wife has a pretty nice SUV already and I’ve had more fun driving Sedans but it’s a fair point. I do really like the look of the Porsche Cayenne or Audi Q8

like

Is none of these cars an option?

like

I’m just messing. If you’re going for luxury Mercedes or Porsche is the way to go generally

like

75k you’ll get a decently specced A7, the Tesla and Porsche will be sparse options wise. Going the used route with a couple years old panemera might be the way to go

like

For 75k I'd go all in on a fully restored late 60's muscle car

like

I can totally appreciate that but I’m 6’6” so it has to be bigger sedan

like

Alpina B7

like

I didn’t know this existed... it’s beautiful

like

BMW X5!

like

What do you like so much about the X5? Just wondering

Panamera is great but don’t think you’ll get it for that price. More like $100k to $150k

like

It’s an awesome car

I’m so sick of politics and people politicizing things that don’t need to be. This is the perfect time for a new political party to come out called the “I hate politics, let’s just” party (pun intended). Instead of blue or red it’ll be colorless. It’ll just include normal f-ing people who meet in the middle to agree on things and avoid drama. People will stop posting polarizing political posts with misinformation, and just post about normal things. Illegitimate news outlets will have less fuel.
