Time for the regular, has anyone received any guidance from their firm on full time return to work date? My firm is still silent.

Labor Day, but only a few days a week. I live in a different city than my office now and will be commuting by plane.

We're targeting return for August 23. It can't come soon enough imo

Can we name these firms? Are these biglaw firms that generally follow market when it moves on anything else?

like

My firm is obsessed with returning this summer - we are targeting august, it seems.

Could you please tell us which firm? It is helpful to know what firms are driving an early return as they’ll likely influence other firms regarded as being in the same ranking/profile as them.

This was shared today. No actual policy yet, but this makes for great tea leaf reading.

We’re coming back 2 days per week starting later this month and then the Firm will “reevaluate” coming back full time at Labor Day

Mine is demanding everyone go in office 3 days a week by May 19th.

Started going back into office full time from this week. I've realized all the higher ups who think this is an awesome idea are all extroverts. Do you think they realize how EXHAUSTING it is being an introvert and having to be around 150 other people for 8+ hours a day? I'm absolutely knackered when I get home and need to use the entire weekend to recover from The People.

Hi everyone. Is it typical for the attorney to take credit for the work a paralegal does? An example: I gave some ideas about deposition questions and some observations I made (I was asked about giving suggestions) regarding a witness and the attorney mentioned that he’s the one that had these great questions/observations. Zero credit or thank you for the work I did.

❗️PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION FOUND IN DRUG TEST❗️As expected, it was found in a drug test as part of a background check for a conditional job offer. Hireright called me & asked me for the name of my medication, name of pharmacy & their phone number. I called my pharmacy (big retail pharmacy) & they said they don’t give medical info to anyone that’s not my doctor … I’m afraid my offer will be rescinded. I’m freaking out. Has this happened to anyone? What do I do?

When do partners decide when an associate is good enough to make partner? I’m a senior and it is extremely clear to me when an associate has it or doesn’t, and moreover it doesn’t take eight years to figure it out; it takes just one or two matters for me to know if they’re adding value or are ultimately just a commodity. It’s hard for me to avoid the conclusion that associates are largely being strung along by partners who are going to can them at some point, long after that decision is made.

I got a recruiter call who said that midlevel transactional associates are receiving $100-500k signing bonuses to lateral. I wasn’t planning a move but then the call got me curious. Ok this one’s for my fellow adhd’ers and auties: are we pro or against disclosing? Feels like it’d help my partners understand why I’m so good at certain things and absolute shite at others, rather than just thinking I’m lazy. But also, disclosure = risk of stigma. Where do people fall? For the seniors/counsel/partners, would you want your associates to disclose something like this or is it just irrelevant/going to make you think they’re just a problem for you even if you like their work?

I'm a senior associate at an AmLaw 100 firm being considered for an non-equity partner position at another AmLaw 100 firm which is a bit further down the pole. There is a business development expection to eventually convert to equity; the expectation at the start is to assist with existing work. Jumping essentially let's me short track the road to partner. I'm unsure about the opportunity, which is essentially me starting over. Any wisdom on this situation? Thanks!
