Time to switch to bonds in your 401k?

A 401k is not meant for active investing. Leave your money in there and when you get close to retirement, then worry about any depreciation in value.

That said we don't know how close op is to retirement. But if you're 10 or more years out, just leave your contributions on auto pilot and forget about it.

Actively managing an investment you won’t cash out for 30 years? Seems like a colossal waste of time. I could see you reviewing your investment elections every few quarters but you will not have the time to double as a consultant and active investment manager.

Thank you. It’s like my first comment went over OP’s head.

I’m 30, I will continue to buy cash generating assets. I have no allocations toward bonds

Bonds aren’t cash generating assets?

I’m 34. Thinking about being more active about managing this rather than leaving it alone. Ours is managed by vanguard

Those target funds a actively managed correct? Albeit likely a pretty low amount

Yes, but only on the sense that they gradually move your assets from stock to less risky assets like bonds the closer you get to your retirement date.

I went to cash 6 months ago. Now I’m getting ready to slowly start getting back in. Is it the bottom? I don’t know, but it was cheaper than before.

To my Deloitte colleagues: I just returned from maternity leave, and while I’m very grateful I was able to stay home with baby for 6 months I’m really anxious about returning and my utilization (50% now). Our RM is really slow and says we have a lot of new projects but hasn’t assigned me to one. I am doing trainings but not billing, and I don’t believe I’ll be staffed next week or the next either. Have reached out to a partner for extra work but haven’t heard back. Afraid I’ll get fired.

Hello what are some careers I can get without any prior experience in healthcare administration; I graduated in May 2021 and haven’t gotten a job I have applied to many places. But no one hires me because of lack of experience in any manager role. I did do an internship for 9 months unpaid and have been a caregiver CNA for about 10 years. have applied for healthcare administration jobs but nothing that doesn’t pay the same as a CNA job which I was hoping with my degree I would get paid more.

Already heard WLB is better and the culture, but I feel like I’ve gotta find that out first hand. Protiviti

Does anyone here learn best through repetitious exercises? I always used repetition and practice to solidify knowledge in college and while studying for the CPA exam, but I can’t find a way to make that work since I’ve started working full time. As a result, my technical knowledge is not up to par. I think it’s mainly because the learning format is listening to a very long presentation or lecture, but then there isn’t any follow up or practice, so I just end up forgetting what I learned. Cont.
