I hate working on proposals. I know they’re important, I know we need them to get new work but I hate them. It doesn’t count unless you win the work and the amount of effort that goes into it never feels worth it when I still need to hit my charge goal that week. The balancing act of working on it and needing to charge enough hours just kills me.

like

Yeah. Imo there should be a code that counts towards utilization, as this is def unfair if the engagement is not won, as it costs too much time to not count towards anything.

like

Definitely don’t agree they are the worst part of my job

Are you in audit? I didn't hate them when I was on consistent audit engagements

Do you pay your credit cards in full every month?

I ask because I’ve let my credit spending get a bit lax since moving and adopting a puppy recently, so I haven’t been paying them off in full every month like I used to (though still well above the minimum payment, and keeping utilization at 30% or under). It got me thinking about how many people adhere to this advice.

hey, I joined Deloitte in June 2020 as an GPS SA analyst, I just staffed on internal project only providing me adjusted utilization. Now my standard util is 40 and my adjusted is 105... and this project last in another month... by then my standard util might be 20.. will my promotion be affected by this? My target promotion year on TOD is 2022. My manager said we might sell to client and extend this project in September but nothing guaranteed.

Hi all, need some advice here, like a lot of others here, Google is definitely a dream company for me to work at. I come from a non-technical background, currently working as a project manager + associate product manager (20% project situation) at a SaaS company. I would really appreciate the input on my chances for a Program manager/ associate product manager role. Also, what are some of the key skills that are utilized extensively in these roles, which google considers a great asset?

Had a fight with my MD or let's say more like argument. After that the next 2 months was endless nitpicking and pulling me for mistakes that aren't really in my control.

Post 3 months, I apply for a transfer. Transfer process delayed for some process reasons
No negatives/issues in my f22 feedback. Utilization above target. Way Above average
Recently fired without reason
Who should I escalate to?

Hadn’t noticed this sub before, and most of the threads are old so thought I’d ask a follow up - how has everyone been handling parenting with public accounting? I’ve got a toddler and my wife is an accountant (industry), and we only have a few immediate family in the country- but they have health concerns. Busy season was rough, things are looking better now as things return to normal. Still working crazy hours if you count the daycare duties on top of utilization targets.
