Hi! Experienced hire here! What is the best practice when asking your peers who are not on your team for assistance? I think I messed up my promotion opportunities by asking my senior or manager all of my questions that could be asked to my peers first. But, for some reason I get the worst anxiety when having to reach out for assistance to others outside my team.

I have an upcoming interview for an internal transfer/promotion into an L4 workforce staffing role and wanted to see if I could get some insight as to what I should expect for the interview and what exactly the role entails such as responsibilities and daily tasks. This is my first time interviewing for an L4 role and just wanted to know what to expect before going into the interview (I’ve done a few interviews for L3 positions).

I’ve been a fed for 13 years within DoD and am in my early 40’s. Not sure when a promotion is on the horizon for me as I’m a top performer.

What are thoughts of leaving the fed for a company like Deloitte?

Would you consider a 3% raise sufficient when the inflation is at 9.06% in the U.S? I feel completely undervalued and just wanted feedback on whether this is reasonable.

Recents accepted a verbal offer from a recruiter for a promotion to a lead position. When I receiver the offer letter it was for $1 less per hour than what was stated over the phone. I went back to the recruiter and told him this and was told “If I did say that amount that isn’t correct” and that the calls weren’t recorded. I’ve already been waiting a month for an offer and I know it’s a small dollar amount of a difference but I can’t help but feel like I was lied to. Would you withdraw or no?

Has anyone here successfully exited to pharma after 1-2 YOE? Currently an SA at a small NYC market access firm with a wide range of projects under my belt for big pharma clients. I'm anticipating a promotion to AC perhaps this fall or winter, but I'm at a crossroads where I'm not sure if I want to continue consulting to the actual consultant level. Currently make $100k with a 10% bonus, would I even get a higher salary in industry at this stage? Also might be worth noting I have an MPH. Thanks!

Is it awkward to bring up the possibility of annual merit raise (usually done at end of year) with my boss now? It seems the job market is cooling a bit and I might lose some leverage if I wait longer to bring this up, in case the economy turns for the worse. About 6 months ago I applied for a team lead role and didn't get it. My boss, in recognition of my efforts (and maybe being a little scared that I'd quit) gave me a 13% raise, and minor promotion to get better clients. NOW I applied for another team lead role (2nd interview soon, wish me luck), if I get it, could withhold a raise from me? Or maybe short me on a raise because I already got a bump this year?
