Tips for breaking into Fintech? I have no financial background although I've been an engineer / architect in the automotive industry for the last 9 years for a 1k+ employee company.

you can easily do it by simply taking inventory of your skills over the past and finding the overlap - so if you’ve been in the auto industry you could transition nicely into the pricing and risk analytics space because some InsureTechs leverage connected car and driving data to create a proxy for risk modeling… your experience would be invaluable to firms like that and then your on your way

I would recommend project management, as long as you have people & Mgmt skills, you could easily get a job with little technical know how
