Not work related but idk where to ask this. We’ve been invited to our first post Covid cookout. It’s at my husband’s former colleagues place so we don’t the hosts too well but we know there are not going to be any kids so mostly a grown up football party. What would bring to it? Because of the current scenario I’m skeptical of bringing my home cooked dip.
Thoughts on visiting Singapore right now w coronavirus at a lot of the connection ports in Asia? Healthy (to my knowledge) 23 year old girl. Flights are cheap af

What's your firm doing regarding Covid-19?
34M, married, 2 kids. Living with parents after selling home during COVID. I have ~1.2M invested with about 400k in cash - no other debt - was thinking of taking on a RE investment that would require about 300k cash - too much risk? How much working capital do you all keep on hand?

Second year lateraling to a new firm and changing practice group - do I have any ground to stand on as far as negotiating bonuses? (Signing, Covid, year end, etc.)
I’m all for the whole movement and COVID-19 climate, but I’m tired of my social media being mainly about that. I wanna see bikini pics damnit
Curious, are attorneys taking cases to sue hospitals and staff that the family members claim have ‘wrongly’ intubated unvaccinated COVID patients? As in they should not have been intubated? Saw a FB page where a woman is blaming the hospital staff that his husband should not have been intubated and says she has been contacted by many attorneys to sue the hospital.
INSEAD candidate here, thinking about the exchange program with Wharton. Anyone here currently on campus? I'd love to know how much classes and activities are still being impacted by Covid.
ZS measures for its employees during CoVID times are really impressive. Affection for ZS is all-time high right now <3 They truly value people
Thank you to Accenture for laying me off during COVID!!! And then trying to get me to come back? I don’t think so. I just almost Tripled my income (TC anyways) in one year. From 85k to 240 TC at a Tier-2. Hahahahahahhahahahhahaha so freaking excited!!!!!! Starting at my new Job in one month!!!!!! Thank you everyone who supported me!
Why is it not ok to work remote from another country? I know people say tax issues but can someone elaborate? My friend at Facebook is able to work remote from his home country due to Covid with no issues.
How to set boundaries at work with the Covid campaigns? We’re already working long hours during the week. I really can’t take this on the weekends too. I know you’re supposed to ‘save your job’ but...
Everyone talking about “re focusing on what matters”, or “putting things in perspective “... I’m a skeptical and believe after this COVID madness is gone, we will all go back to our old selfish self... I love the fact our carbon footprint is much lower now, but again, believe this will be short lived. What do you think?
Been getting huge waves of not wanting to work because I know I’m only in it for the money. Except that doesn’t even feel worth it anymore. Just started a new project that isn’t interesting, but is chargeable. Need some advice from fellow fishes. Oh, to add on, I had a vacation planned for Santorini earlier in April, but was cancelled due to COVID. 😭
Has anyone done a math lesson on the growth and analysis of the corona virus? If so how did you present it and what resources did you use?
Thoughts on Skype vs. on-campus interview? Invited to interview with Anderson, but coming from the east coast, I’d love to save the $ & time for other interviews and (hopefully) admitted student days
Best SPG property in Bangkok and Phuket?
What is the best certification to pursue in this area? Looking at SHRM-CP but want to learn more about others.
How people with small kids are managing WFH? I have 18 month old and both of us are in consulting. It's getting almost impossible to keep kid engaged and work. Interested what other parents are doing
These are the threads we should frame and hang in all agency lobbies instead! "Just got laid off. Just found out I’m pregnant. Someone say it’s going to be okay, because that seem..." See full post https://joinfishbowl.com/post_2r395j
It’s times like these... when I am dialing into a client call on a Saturday of a holiday weekend at my grandparent’s house...that quitting seems like the only option.
One week into kindergarten, already scheduling my first PCR for a sick kid. Buckle up, I guess?
What does your firm allow you to count towards non-billable hours other than standard business development?
I’m sponsored from Deloitte at my mba program and I’m planning to rerecruit for MBB. Some of my classmates and others in the program really question why I would do this. I personally did a lot of research into comp and it seems like MBB definitely would exceed in just a few years after mba. I guess just looking for opinions, is this an irresponsible plan? Or do you guys think getting MBB is def worth giving up my sponsorship
Hello! How should I go about applying as a generalist Associate to McKinsey's TMT practice as an experienced hire? Current SW tech lead at Square looking to switch into consulting but in TMT only. Any tips / McK folks open to DMs?
Newly promoted experienced hire SC making $113k, 10 YOE (switched industries). Got an offer from TCS in an Advisory practice (not the tech sweatshop stuff that I keep seeing people mention). Base salary is $190k and in TCS equivalent of a M role. Downside to taking the salary hike and boomeranging back to D in ~2 years? FYI - I have 2 kids, so that kind of pay raise is kind of a big deal.
Seeking portfolio advice. 23 years old- 95k comp, 20k currently in market through the most basic Schwab index funds and Vanguard ETF’s, already max out 401k & IRA. My returns over the past year have been meager. I want to take on more risk and pick more concentrated investments. Whatever I go with, I want to hold them for the long run with no intention to sell. Any advice?
Alitalia telling people to not bring luggage on their flights because they can’t guarantee it will actually make it on the plane is my new favorite flavor of “rolling off a project” vibes.
I'm thinking about getting braids. What are your thoughts on interviewing while wearing braids pulled back in a bun? Yes/No, until you get the job?
Show of hands; who has been laid off because your agency lost a big client? Also, when you interviewed for your next job did you feel comfortable saying that? And do other agencies understand?
Got laid off from my first job after graduating college & living home right now with family. Not sure what direction to go. Was doing a structured finance role and not sure if this is something I still want to do. Any suggestions on other positions in Finance/ looking for areas with growth and potential.
I’m mentally breaking down because I have been doing a job of a scheduler, PM, notetaker, regulatory submissions, and thus have no room for growth to work on strategy. I’m an AS and I am so sick of having to remind everyone because no one looks at my notes, recaps, and no one remembers anything from any meeting. Recently because I’m so exhausted I started making more “mistakes” like not catching a mistake on a submission. Is this because I suck or is it time for me to move off? I feel terrible.
