Use Amex Platinum FHR and don't rely on your status. I think Visa Infinite cards like the CSR and Ritz also have a similar service.

Resorts don't offer platinum perks in the same way regular hotels do

I’ve honestly never had good luck with perks at Marriott...

like

Call ahead and check what perks the resort will grant. Also check if they will waive the resort fee (some do, most won't, but it never hurts to ask!) At least this way you're not surprised when you don't even get peanuts.

Call ahead and ask for a room upgrade.

I’ve been working 12 hours a day minimum since I was 11 years old .. so now 12 hour days feel like play for me. Also put me infront of a screen for 24 hours and I won’t move until I need to go to sleep . I have been like that since I was a kid so now it’s in my blood. I never felt I was working. I’m always curious and my mind goes 1000 miles an hour . What about you? Do you feel it’s work and CBF after 8 hours? Or you feel it’s your hood and you can’t have enough of it?

I have two offers - same comp: Big4 A - I used to work there so I have some network and connections. But it’s a specialized group in niche industry (good balance of provision and compliance) Big4 B - never worked there. It’s a provision only group specialized in tax accounting but no specific industries (probably will see everything) I value my network especially in the middle of the pandemic but I don’t really want to be confined in a niche industry. Provision > compliance. Any advise? TIA!

What are the ledger growth expectations (dollars or %) at your firm this year? I’m finishing the first year as a new tax partner (not B4). Started with 1.9million ledger and grew to 2.7million with pipeline worked from past years that turned to wins. The pandemic hasn’t allowed much time or travel to refill the pipeline. Now there’s pressure to add 500k and grow to 3.2million by end of 2nd year. Feels like a big number for a second year tax partner.
