Find an activity you enjoy doing. I really like to brew a tea and take it with me on a brisk walk early morning with my dog. On my walks I like to listen to audible sometimes too. Finding a low key fitness activity is all you need to develop your groove a bit. Then you can move to maybe more intense morning workouts when you’ve warmed up to the routine. I usually keep my mornings to stretching and walking, even a light swim. Then I do something more intense at night: pickleball, a more aggressive swim, tennis. Whatever your flow, enjoy what you’re doing! I certainly cannot do an activity that I drag myself to. On the upside, one rarely regrets a workout after, it might just be hard to show up!

Not a bad idea! Thanks!

This might be annoying but when I was dealing with this, I signed up for workout classes that charged a no-show fee so I would be forced to get up. After doing that for a bit, I was able to get up for workouts without much issue

helpful

Knowing me I'd rack up way too much money in no show fees lol

Help me get over my covid anxiety: had plans with a friend but they got exposed to covid. Got a neg rapid test but feel like they have a sore throat and still want to hang. Given rapids don’t necessarily detect omicron plus the symptoms, I’m a bit concerned. I’m WAAAY more cautious than most when it comes to covid (not doing indoor events yet, still masking). We’d be outdoors anyways, so do I put my anxiety aside and risk it or ask them to get a PCR and just postpone to next week?

Vent: Honestly I’m just kind of pissed at the last three years. I followed all the rules. Stayed safe. I became an orphan, lost my job, and lost some friends. I landed an amazing job but can’t really travel for clients anymore (which I enjoyed)- thanks COVID. Now I make more money but everything seems to cost more. Buying a home seems way outside the realm of possibility and if I hear one more boomer tell me I just need to invest more- I’m going to lose it. Just need some positivity.

I also overthink every move I make so I take forever. Is this job just not meant for someone like me? On the plus side, I’m really good at concepting. But for everyday tasks, not so much.
