Hey everyone! I just got back an email from EY for an Interview to be a Technology Risk Intern for Summer 2023! However, this is my first ever interview so I’m really nervous how it will turn out. Is there any questions I should prepare for ,specifically, that any of you been asked a-lot in interviews? How do their interviews work usually ? Any advice and comments are welcome! EY

McKinsey & Company McKinsey & Company I had a 30 minute screen with a recruiter for a role in Risk. They said they’ll get back to me after speaking with the team. I was then invited to a phone case screen.
Does the team you’re being recruited into actually screen your resume and make a “yes/no” decision?

Trying to figure out if it's the right time to jump to LEK (post MBA, ~1 year boutique consulting). I've been having chats/informal interviews and will likely be getting an offer for a practice that, from the sound of it, needs extra bodies to lead projects. I would probably be starting in February, but I'm concerned that I'm setting myself up to get laid off if the economy keeps going downhill. I have good job security at my current firm, but the pay is much lower. Thoughts?L.E.K. Consulting

What's stopping you from just quitting at 8 months/when you feel like it's not right?
First: I appreciate you taking the time to help me C2!
Second: I spoke to my recruiter who informed me that this has happened in the past, so luckily it’s not like I have to craft this process. One of my current projects is getting extended into another phase, and my plan was to stay on it, doing the same hours I’m doing now (20-25 per week)
what type of firm do you work at? def not gonna happen at mbb
at my b4 (Deloitte ) there was such thing as externship. about halfway I would bring it up to your senior manager or partner
I think the company will find someone else who definitely wants to work full time instead of dealing with you and your situation.
8 months because I want to reassess if consulting is the path I want to pursue at that time.
Note: the return offer is for 2020 summer, not FT
Are you in the US? We don’t do part time consulting here
I’m still in school, that’s the only reason the idea was really brought up
I remember meeting someone at EY who did this type if thing after doing the diversity internship. The part time work was as more internally facing work though (e.g. how can our practice expand in to X market). Might also be possible that you help out with some data collection (i.e. benchmarking) tasks
Yeah the business development stuff sounds interesting, I’ve done a bit of that over the past couple weeks although my main focus has been client work. I’ll definitely bring this up though, thanks!
Mmh, I don’t think they’ll offer this kind of flexibility at the staff level. Doesn’t make sense based on what’s being brought to the table
Would be intern level as opposed to staff, but I can see where your coming from
