If you’re willing to go to Cerritos Auto Square, the selection and availability is a bit better. (I went all the way out to Fontana for Chevy). Look up price before on KBB to know the negotiating window.

If you're going new, Be comfortable with markups cars and play the dealers against each other.

Shop via the internet. Get pre approved loan first (keep to your self). Compare prices. Call to verify on site, and available. If financing, let banks battle for your business.
Get lowest total price out the door, not monthly.
Not sure if your budget, but if looking for new, compare the luxury brands to what the mainstream brands are charging post mark-up. You’d be surprised but often a Toyota or Kia (certain models and trims) after mark up is as much as a BMW, Mercedes, Audi without a markup. Not saying which is better, just a note on pricing. The avg. new car sale is about 50k currently

Know how much you want to pay, then go to a bank for a pre-approval. That way you’ll only see your credit score hit for a few points. Let the dealership do it and they’ll use every lender and you’ll end up seeing a 40+ point hit to your score as every lender would’ve done a hard credit check.
Basically ruining your score if you wanted to go elsewhere.
