Hi Fishes, I got an offer from Infosys and my joining date is on March 1st. . Since my current employer didn't accept my resignation as I was in emergency leave, I will need to serve notice period until April 1st. . Will Infosys postpone my Joining date by a month considering this valid reason. Please share your thoughts to take this decision!!! Thank you in Advance!!Infosys

I had RSV and was supposed to have a big interview for a job I really wanted the next day, with two presentations and everything. I emailed the recruiter and said "here's my situation, I absolutely don't want to miss out on this opportunity but I don't feel I would be at my best today, but I will go forward with it if your timeline is short." We rescheduled for the following week when I was feeling better, I killed the interview and got the job. It doesn't hurt to reach out to the recruiter and feel it out
Thank you! I always check first and your little spiel is a good way of saying it. Just sometimes they still say no is all. :(

If I get on a call with someone who tells me they are sick or if they sound sick, my first question is if they'd like to reschedule. I want people to feel their best, be at their best.
If you're forced to, make sure you drink hot tea with lemon and honey for your voice, something for the fever and gatorade. But seriously, try to postpone. Most companies are pretty good about this and if they aren't, would you want to work for them?

When this happened to me (bad case of food poisoning) I went ahead, but was very upfront and told them I was sick. I figured going ahead would demonstrate how interested I was in the job. I did make it past that interview, but didn't end up getting an offer.
If you are congested a decongestant nose spray has worked wonders for me. I still sounded congested but I could breathe and not blow my nose every 2 seconds.
Thank you! I've been using my hydrasense, but will try that as well.
Side note: Turns out my husband (who is also sick) just caught pink eye. Is sleeping separately too much? Trying to avoid getting it since interviews require video.
Lol nevermind, he was thinking the same thing.
I would reach out and explain the situation.
So I managed to avoid pink eye for 4 or 5 days....but now I got it in both 😭
I've had people reschedule due to being sick and it's worked out just fine. People first is our first value and personally if I was sick, I'd want to have the interview rescheduled so I could be at my best for the interview.
