Earlier i was hired to work on testing/automation but after joining training was never given on that and they took me in an internal project which i wasn't aware of. After working for more than a year i want to switch to testing, so I requested the same to a higher official. They said we can't switch you to testing as you don't have training but we can take you later on and give you training side by side with your current project. Should I believe them or switch the company. Please help PwC

What I normally do (and have been successful so far): Get a list of key SMEs on the project and gauge to see who of the bunch seems to be a great teacher and hospitable (not competitive or viscous m). Set up time on calendar with them and pick at their brains. Build a relationship with them so that they’re willing to help and support whenever you’re in a rut.
The first step is to staff to cover your weak areas as EY2 alluded. Then clearly explain to them your weak areas where you need help with. Offer to take things you are strong at off their plate. On such projects, I take over the client management, cover everyone on meetings, and ask them to use me like a fresh analyst - run their analyses when overloaded and make pages/decks.
Ask questions, listen, learn and don't try to fake it. A leader doesn't have to be a SME. Staying confident in your leadership abilities will show to the team.

My default assumption is that the team is always smarter than me when it comes to content. I️ see my job as trying to facilitate progress, make their life easier and help them with the things I’m good at, like client management, how commercial side works etc.
