Tips on saying no to a project opp? Reason is because I’m about to leave the company soon. Nothing lined up, but working on it.

Say it’s not aligned to your interest - industry, type of work you want to do, etc

Hmmm. In this market, hard to turn down, how sure are you that you will leave soon?

like

Haha love the 4D reference! 😂

If you have nothing else lined up, take the project.

like

Then just say you’re already tagged to a project that’s starting soon and you’ll let them know if your situation changes. I’ve used that excuse multiple times

smart

Why wouldn’t you take the project if you don’t have anything else lined up?

Because I want to spend my time job/interview pepping instead

Just quit then OP - seems like you've already made up your mind so why delay the inevitable.

EY1, in a perfect world sure. But we all know corporations always do what is in their best interest be it good, bad, or ugly and they do what they need to, to get the upper hand. It’s about time I do the same.

I started working in a agency two months ago, and I have two very big projects running simultaneously. My Creative Director left for paternity leave, and left me with all the work, facing the client, going to shootings, editing. I've been working 15 days straight, no weekends. The agency hasn't given me any back up/someone I can team up with to do the job. Is this normal? I'm used to have a partner, a copywriter or another creative working alongside. Keep in mind that I'm mid-level.

I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this. Does anyone who switched from consulting to product management have any recommendations of h helpful PM books, courses, or programs?

My thinking is technical expertise, client communication, and team management are the most important aspects of a successful manager.

I’ve never been a regular vacation-taker, but now I’m resolved to become one. Especially because my company has an unlimited PTO policy. Would 4 weeks of total vacation per year be considered a lot/excessive at your company? I’m thinking of doing two one week vacations, and one two week vacation, and booking them far in advance.

Hii all, I recently got offer from ICICI Bank for the role of Market Risk. I have completed my MBA Finance from NMIMS Mumbai and also CFA L1 certified. I have total 3yrs workex (around 5 months post MBA), no prior workex in Risk. Currently working in Business Analyst role with Accenture drawing a CTC of 12.1 LPA. What should be considered a reasonable offer for ICICI as I would be leaving Accenture in less than 6 months and also switching role from BA to Risk. Salary discussion is still pending.
