Are you worried about jet lag? Going east to west isn’t so bad. The other way is harder IMO. try flying at night so you can sleep when you land (means I leave Sundays sadly). Usually I have little to no jet lag if I can do that. Currently living in Toronto, staffed in SF
Currently staffed in CT and live in CA. Wear comfy clothes, bring eye mask and ear plugs. Drink water before and during the flight. I swear by window seats so I can lean and sleep (both ways...staying up an extra 3 hrs going east to west sucks without a nap). I no longer do red eyes regularly, but if you do, nap at the hotel before hitting the client site so you can make it through the day. I fly Monday afternoons and get to east coast by 11 Pm. I keep my weekend, still get work on Monday AM and am fresh for 8 am start on Tuesday.
I always convert to whatever time zone I’m in (mental thing).
Oh, and negotiate a WFH week every three weeks
Awesome! What about packing I.e., what to clothing to pack for client ect.
May depend on the client (ex: are you going to be in a manufacturing facility and need pants and closed toe shoes?) but generally business casual is fine (skirt or dress pants, shirt, sometimes a blazer on top if you want it or a cardigan works. If your client is super formal you might need a suit. I always lack at least one suit in case an important meeting pops up). Bring pieces you can mix and match, bring flats and heels (if you want options) and defiantly bring something nice (I use a stylish back pack) to put your laptop in daily. I’m guessing you don’t travel much for work, so I should also specify: never ever check a bag lol
