Had heated call with my SM . SM told me to, "pull up" and that he would find out if I was, "really bout that life". What does this mean?? TIA

Honestly, I’m done with covid. I’ve done all I can do, the rest is in God’s hands. Come at me telling me about how I don’t care about anyone but myself, x y and z. I quarantined, masked, vaxxed. What else can I do? I’m going to start living life like it’s 2019 again.

Recently inherited ~$5m and finding it very hard to focus on my career. Seems like anything I save is pennies - any ideas on staying motivated?

Best life lesson I learned from Deloitte: don’t ever, EVER sign a contract that demands you return the sign on bonus if you leave within a year. I thought to myself, “I would never leave a company within a year”, but I grossly underestimated how much I could hate a job.

Deloitte is one of the few major, publicly-listed contributors of Trump's Inauguration. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

There are far too many posts asking for the quickest and cleanest paths to 500k+ salaries as Partners and/or work at FAANG/PE in this bowl. We should be encouraging people to take risks, start companies/join early stage ventures, and actually impact the world—not spend their careers making slide decks and avoiding the fray. Consulting is great for exposing people to lots of fields and problems, but I would be ashamed to still be a consultant beyond 3-5 years.

What are some consulting firms that pay well and have very good WLB? Prestige is not an important factor in this question

Top lies that your SM tells. Go!

What is this trend of excitedly announcing on LinkedIn that they’ll be joining as an intern/analyst/etc.? You got a job, I get it. Another form of a participation trophy ?

What’s the worst firm in the marketplace by perception?

With the new decade around the corner, what are your proudest achievements of the year 🥳 and your new year resolutions for 2020?

My former manager, who laid me off, just called and asked for a referral to where I work. I asked why and he said he's "not feeling confident about [his] status". I said I'd "look into it". Nope!

What's the most absurd thing an analyst has done on your teams? Looking for some laughs.

What is your biggest career achievement to date?
