TMI question but here goes - I eat a high fiber, veggie focused diet. I’ve suspected that I may have IBS surrounding cruciferous vegetables but I ignore it because I enjoy the taste of them and know they’re good for me, even if it causes me a lot of pain, gas, and bloating. The only issue now is I’m finding that I’m constipated way more often… I could definitely stand to drink more water but I’d think with a high fiber diet I wouldn’t have this problem. Is this IBS related? Any advice?

You need to get in some quality protein and healthy fats (avocado, olive oil ). Balance that with vegetables. It’s not fun to live with IBS and feel bloated all the time. Perhaps try not to combine all the cruciferous veggies at once. For example, if I have broccoli, I’m not going to also have a big serving of cabbage.

Constipation can be due to many reasons, dehydration is one of the top. Try consuming some things like Greek yogurt and olive oil, it should help you go.

Have you looked into FODMAP diet?

Fodmap just tells you what veggies to eat that won’t upset your digestive system, it won’t make you gain weight. Talk to a doctor about it, you seem to have a strange perception that fodmap doesn’t let you eat well?

Check out Athletic Greens. I have a lot of similar issues and I can’t believe how helpful it’s been. They’re expensive but worth it. Full of a bunch of pre and probiotics!

Fiber can aggravate IBS. Look into low or no fiber diets like carnivore, seriously. I’ve been doing mostly meat abs gut has been feeling great. I then ventured to include veggies, and though oh I’m okay. No!!!! Full blown GI symptoms the next day.

Intermittent fasting helps for me

My husband is definitely struggling with something. Anxiety and/or depression. We talk about it, he’s been open but we are spinning our wheels. My confession is that I have seen the medical field change so much over the past 20 years, that it's unrecognizable in both good and bad ways. More people are leaving than staying, and I am worried the quality of care is dwindling. I try not to burden friends and family with some of the things I've seen recently, but the short version is that I'm no longer sure I have faith or trust in it myself.

After finally getting approval for my ivf cycle and being on birth control for 2 months -my ivf cycle was delayed for a dominant follicle and they want to reevaluate several weeks later. I don’t have that kind of time. I’m also starting to question the abilities of my doctor as well since his nurses try to act like the doctors and respond on his behalf. Thinking of jumping ship elsewhere.

For men who spin: I recently purchased an Echelon bike (similar to Peloton) to get some exercise indoors. I never had a problem on my road or city bike before this but I feel a little bit of strain and occasional dull pain in one of my testacles after each spin class. 26M - I need some help choosing a healthcare plan. I currently have the PPO 20 plan (picture below). My only real medical expense is my therapist - $125/week.

Does it make sense to choose the high-deductible plan to get an HSA? My employer matches my contributions. My GF and mom (lol) are telling me I should just choose another therapist that’s in network. My current therapist only accepts out of network.

Has anyone ever had corrective jaw surgery? I was just told that I may need SARPE surgery and then corrective jaw surgery. It sounds a bit intense (two year process), and I’m worried about the pain. I suffer from migraines and I’m afraid the surgery will make it worse. Also the inability to chew food for 12 weeks is a lot. Has anyone gone thru this before? How was your experience?
