Anyone ever been offered the “mommy track” without warning and without being pregnant? Hours are lower than normal, but the firm is still expecting us to meet hour requirements in spite of COVID negatively impacting certain practice areas disproportionately (including my area). Was blindsided by an alternative arrangement “offer” from our COO (non-attorney) a couple of weeks ago - no details on what the offer entails, but this feels like a short-sided move, not to mention sexist. I find this mentality patriarchal and demeaning. I’ll ask for advice when I need it and do value their opinion, but I don’t need my father’s approval to make my own decisions. 14 days alcohol free!! Naltrexone plus therapy is what finally made it click into place. it was easy to drive by gas stations without stopping for that tall boy. Had my first real trigger though yesterday when I was stuck in the car with the kids fighting in the back. Didn’t give in but I seriously felt like I needed it. Analyzing the trigger I see its tied back to getting lectured in the car as a kid and feeling trapped and withdrawing. So pleased I’m able to make this progress.
