Hi Fishers, I want to pivot my career into management consultant. I am currently working as a Market research analyst with 1 YOE. Can someone please suggest me how or where should I start to build my career in management consulting at Big 4.
Also, please suggest entry level jobs that I will be eligible for with skills in Strategy, primary and secondary research, and competitor analysis.
Thanks in advance!

I've worked at the same engineering firm for 4 years. I'm currently making $161k with only a $750 bonus, but excellent vacation (4 weeks, cash out anytime, rolls over indefinitely), 45 hours a week. I have an interview with a recruiter at Guidehouse this week for a Technical Project Manager role. It seems to be focused in the government space and requires a security clearance. What sort of salary and benefits could I expect for this sort of role at Guidehouse?

Sign on bonus is not something that should come into consideration unless you go in the tens of thousands of dollars. Base is much more important. I’d never turn down a job I wanted for a one time payment of a couple thousand more.
Awesome recommendation M1. Thanks so much for the insight. Truly is helpful
Nice try Mr. Recruiter
Trying to figure out how much to push the recruiter lol
5K is fair for an entry level role and during COVID I'm just thankful companies are still hiring.
Agreed. Any bonus / position is good, especially during the COVID struggle.
I went to a B4 last month with no sign on. Kicked myself, after the fact, a little bit, but honestly got a 35% pay raise from the old place so it was life changing enough.
Thanks for the tip A1. Looks like the transition would take place during the holidays which is perfect time to unwind and really do nothing. Luckily I am on my SO insurance so no worries there either. Super nervous and excited at same time. New adventures are scary because you never know if you made the right choice till it’s too late. But more money can ever so slightly help ease even bad decisions 😂
