The grass is always greener my friend. Candidly my current ~$300k income doesn't really buy me life changing luxuries and my general lifestyle hasn't really changed much from since I first started working, though I will admit a significant reduction in financial related anxiety when tracking my budget. Still on the hunt to find out what happiness is though.
I don't have time to travel the world between my demanding job and kids. I hope to travel again once my kids are older, but the job will still be there. The dedication comes with the pay. Also, I grew up poor, and still don't understand your point.
I broke 300k last year.
You may be surprised but I was happier, and felt wealthier, a year out of undergrad making 80ish and living on my own.
Accenture 1 what level are you at ACN? Thanks!

Married and making $550 (200 me, 350 wife in big law).
My entire paycheck gets saved and we both max out our 401ks, but I still don’t feel like we save enough. Lifestyle creep is definitely a thing.
Ok.. you are saving like 160k a year. How is that not enough?!
We save like 60-80k a year and I feel like it’s plenty…. We don’t make as much as you but we aren’t thattt far behind (probably around 400k all things considered).

What about if it’s a combined 300k
Oh yes that sounds good to me as well

After reading all these posts, I now have the courage to say that I’m making $950k+ and feel poor too. 🙃🫠

$900k between the 2 of us and we work too much to enjoy the income. The goal is FIRE. I’m jealous of people with a well paying career but one that has WLB and that they enjoy.
Same here
I’m just under 300k and my lifestyle hasn’t really changed but the feeling of financial security is big enough of a win for me. Honestly my dog has probably gotten the most material benefit from the raise because he now gets fresh meal delivery and goes to the bougie daycare and groomer.

Your effective take home is around 200k after tax. And then there is the regular 401, health insurance, rent. You’d think you can flex but may not be lavish as you would have wanted.
