Yep, I’m not gonna last very long in a job where performance is measured by how much you can yap.
I feel your pain. I let my work do the talking. Shorten some meetings to 15 min whenever it's feasible.. I do push ups before & after my calls ..it helps me with keeping my anxiety level low.

I’ve never heard so many empty suit extroverts talk so much about nothing

Engineers as clients are either the best or the worst. The best ones get to the point, know what matters, and talk real with you. The worst ones are intransigent, laser focused on their own product (ignoring the portfolio), and too mired in process to think critically.
I’m so far 80/20 on good/bad ones, but you have to know how to work them 🙂
Fake it till you make it :)
☹️ don't know what to say to you bud... *pat pat*
As an introvert, I’m blessed to at least be outgoing, so I can keep the energy up during the meeting and be engaging. I still need some quiet alone time to recover my energy, and get actual work done. There is an element of putting on a sales attitude in some situations, but you should also try to leverage your being quieter and thoughtful in order to be perceived as a thought leader, someone who can contribute with exactly the right comment at the right time to unlock a difficult situation.
Introvert with ADHD. This work is tough for me.
I’m still wow’ed how much talking and power point is required to be successful in consulting.
Smh maybe I should find another job
I am going through the same feeling ! Especially when it’s all virtual the thought of initiating a conversation takes all my energy!
I like the implementation side because you’re hands in applications configuring and don’t have to have as many meetings as strategy. It’s a nice balance of actually working rather than constantly being in meetings.
Weird - in tech we get money by delivering lol. Obviously have to have meetings with the stakeholders and workshops but ya still have to make sure you’re configuring and developing the application.

Yes
I’m a manager, but keep thinking about getting back to implementation /hands on side of business. Feels like a step back though.
