My boss is pushing me up for Manager this year, but I’m trying to debate if it’s worth staying for the manager title, or if I should try to leverage my new degree and jump out into industry. Got an offer from a large tech PE company for their value creation team. Team is relatively experienced - however, their offer is lower than my current salary as a consultant at a T2 firm. I’m highly valued at my firm and my trajectory is already fast tracked. Would it make sense to leave in this case for the mere name recognition of this PE fund?

Deciding on whether or not I should take a boutique consulting firm’s offer. Much better than my current salary prospects and seemingly much better culture. My only fear is that of getting pigeonholed into my field and never be able to exit from consulting if I ever wanted to in the future.

Can exits from boutiques still be interesting?
