To get a 45 or so on quant...do you need to know how to do the “develish” level questions in the OG or can you get away with skipping questions of that difficulty on the real test?

Yes. You might get lucky but if you can’t get those right you’re capping yourself at 45 max so you’ll have to be perfect everywhere else.

If it helps, another way to approach it is to rule out options. Often with practice you can rule out at least 1 to 2 choices. When you’re left with 50/50 then just test one. I see some people check again if they have one left to make sure it’s right. Don’t. It’s you’re last choice. Save the time for other questions. Should give you back a few minutes for those devilish questions.

OP.. sounds like you may be approaching the questions too mathematically.. depending on what you want to shoot for, you definitely want to practice these. Look to learn shortcuts to avoid spending much more than 2 min on these questions.

I hit 48 in quant. Never used OG solution explanations.. waaay too mathematically oriented. I used Manhattanprep to get me over 700, their explanations on the navigator are much better. Try to find a study partner too, that helps as you can bounce questions off of each other.

Does Stanford gsb have a higher percentage of internationals than most schools? Many of my European college and workmates have gotten in recently, and while they’re all v intelligent, some had essays and work experience (areas like S&T) that I wouldn’t typically imagine getting in. Maybe all just anecdotal but have seen heavily int’l classss at Gsb vs where I went at booth for example. Think it contributes to a v global vibe so I think it’s great they do if so
