To get MBA or to not get MBA... Is it really necessary?

For fundamental research/investing roles in equities, fixed income (full spectrum of IG, HY, loans/CLO), or alternatives (infrastructure, energy/renewable power, real estate etc) — what is good total comp for 3 YOE, no MBA, HCOL area?

MBA admit here and have to put down a deposit soon, having serious cold feet right now due to the covid situation and potentially having to start virtually. Would love any perspective on how it's been particularly socially and what your schools' outlook on the fall is

1) During the MBA programme, will I be able to do an internship at other companies?

2) After the MBA, will I be able to serve out the bond at another geography? (e.g. transfer from New York to London)

Hello all - anyone in consulting see a drop off in salary by taking an LMM role in a smaller city? Currently seeing potential roles at 160/170k all-in for associate. Homegrown post-MBA level consultant right now, and that’s lower than just the base at my firm. Not sure if you just take the hit for now if it’s a good move long term? Or focus on larger shops?
