I recently came across this LS salary report from Biospace. Wanted to see what the group thinks, in terms of its accuracy. Specifically, I'm wondering at the AD/D levels. Also, should different AD/D roles within a company expect different salary bands? For instance, would a d in marketing expect a wildly different salary than a d in ops?

If you knew where applications go when you apply directly to job postings, you’d laugh and never apply online again.

Into a black hole.
Nobody sees it except for maybe HR and you definitely don’t want HR to be the first to look at your application, since that’ll be the last person to ever see it.
Everyone will swear by one of these (or say to only ever do direct referral) and laugh at all the others. I know people who’ve found their post-consulting role through each of these methods.
I’d say network with a few former ZS colleagues who have landed the kinds of jobs you’re interested in. Then ask if they can send you names of recruiters who were helpful. Super easy ask for them. Prob best to go broad with recruiters.
I got 2 jobs from just cold applying.
Cold applying actually works sometimes. Got several interviews that way. But the hit rate is highly variable.
Just do both, it’s not either or.
Thanks all. I also heard from a recruiter that a recruiter can't make an intro to the same firm that you applied to within the past year -- is that true (across the board)? E.g. if I applied to NVS directly this March then a recruiter can't introduce/forward me until next March?
Thanks a lot!!! :)
