Side note: if you are planning on breastfeeding it might mess with your fertility. I had to wean at 12 months in order to get pregnant with my second.
I didn’t know this and wish someone would have told me :)
Truth!
I can't speak for maternity leave, but as a mom of a 9 month old, I can't imagine having another right now. 😅 I'd give it a few months, lol.
Same. I did not want to consider a second until after my first was 1 yo.

No idea what the policy says but I will say I sure would be VERY surprised if EY didn’t let you take the full maternity leave with your 2nd. Were you planning to take unpaid leave on top of the 4-5 months paid?

I went the 2 under 2 route. I don’t regret it but also wouldn’t advise it 😅😳😂
Just think if you had twins the second time around? Mine are 2 years apart. Far enough that you don’t forget about diapers, car seats, etc. but as they get older those higher costs you about the same time - car insurance, the sibling fighting, college tuition, sibling fighting, car notes, sibling fighting…….
… and 2 of my boys that are 19 months apart are fighting as I’m reading this. EY6 thank you for validation!😘
I know for the first child, I must work the full 12 months to be eligible for maternity leave. Not sure if this applies to second child back to back. I doubt it.
Do not believe so but you can confirm with leave management
I think you can only take leave once in 12 months (basically looking back from date of leave). So you’d want to give birth 12 months after you come back to work to qualify for the full leave again
Not true. It’s 12 months from the start date, not the return date. So if you start leave #1 on 1/1/21, you could start leave 2 on 1/1/22.
