What are A1/A2s making in deals right now? LCOL/MCOL

I am doing a rotation in the valuation group and planning to switch firms afterwards. Anyone here did this and have any tips? I know transferring from audit to valuation is usually a bit harder, but would appreciate any tips. I have a bit of valuation experience from my PE clients. I am also planning to sit for CFA level II this summer and have taken some modeling/valuation courses.

Thinking of transferring to Bober, Markey, Fedorovich TAS group from Deloitte M&A. Any insights? Any opinions on moving from Deloitte to a small regional firm?

Thinking about making the switch to transaction / deal advisory this spring. Just completed my 3rd busy season (sr 1) in audit and wanted to hear experiences of how hard it is to switch / difficulties moving from a national firm to B4 with a different service line.

Why are some FDD folks so cocky? It's so weird.

Got an email that I’ve been selected for EY SaT FDD rotation program. Says interviews will include a case study. Any thoughts on what this could be on? Been preparing for FDD interviews but haven’t had a case study in any.

Tax or financial/accounting is better?

I passed the first 2 levels of the CFA exam, will having it on my resume damage my chances when applying for transaction diligence jobs?

Pros / cons of FDD?

Any advice on how to communicate with a team who’s too busy and you’re still new to FDD (4-5 months in) ? Communication is just summarized into to do lists by email, ask to get it done and provide updates. But I have so many questions when I go through tasks, as I’m still learning how to do my job… ?! And if I make mistakes after they review, they just provide negative feedback.

What can I do to save time formatting and going through data in excel? Will picking up a coding language help?

Does having deal accounting advisory experience give you a leg up in switching over to FDD? Will someone from accounting advisory beat someone in audit in terms of getting a FDD role?

Anyone study for CFA while working full time in deals, FDD specifically? Thinking about starting it now as a senior (starting next month in Advisory after transferring out of audit). Probably would wait until I have gotten adjusted to the new role before beginning but wanted thoughts on if it’s doable and a worthwhile investment.

Salary difference for S1 between FDD and AAS? I’ve heard FDD pays more but not sure if the hours are worth the salary.
