I joined EY GDS in Jan 2022 and still haven't got any billable project. In such cases, is there a chance that they don't give confirmation once the probation period is over? Is there a chance of layoff?

I was just let go from a contract position 2 months early due to client reorgs (Covid). Was filed as a W2 but on a 6 month contract. Would I still qualify for unemployment? Pre Covid I wouldn’t but with the continued Pandemic Assistance plan, I think I might. Does anyone here have experience with this?

Struggling with JE’s for earnouts paid post-acquisition. Amounts were paid out to former owners in a prior period. I think the entry was Dr. accrued expense; Cr. Cash. Now it’s sitting in accrued exp, so I asked why and the client says it was wrong and is reclassing now by Dr. Investment in Sub; Cr. Accrued Exp. (Investment in sub rolls up into current liability.) Does this make sense? I’m so confused about what this should be.

Plaintiffs personal injury. I file “claim A.” There’s a lien or assignment for portion of settlement proceeds of “claim A.” Then claim B” by other Atty over debt at issue by the lien holder, naming my client as a defendant. I’m not involved in “claim B” but that case deals with a lien/assignment related to my case “claim A”. The question is: When trying to settle a case - can I talk directly to the lien holder (they have a lien in my case) or is that unethical (b/c they’re represented by Atty)

Two years post-MBA, promoted early, and don’t feel like I’ve learned a lot, other than program/project management. Knowing I’m paid what I am to be ‘on call’ to the team/client, should I expect a pay cut if I jump to industry in search of WLB? Unlike a lot of posts on here, I know the likelihood of the unicorn job where I work 40 hours/week and receive a pay bump is probably unlikely, especially without a technical background/skillset.
