Hi Nagarrians, it's been 45 days now since I joined Nagarro I was assigned a team at the time of joining but since then I am waiting for interview to take place. Is this normal procedure? Although from day 2 my project manager asked me to fill the timesheet corresponding to one project which is no billable. I am having concerns now as I don't know if this is normal ?

Sorry I don’t work in design or copywriting (but I’m not finance either), and I just want to say I have the utmost respect for what copywriters do and how brutal it can be to hear things related to your words being ignored. Your words matter. You’re one of the few among us who know how to use their words. So, keep on!
My male AD partner diminishes my contributions all the time. I call him out every time.
My male CW does the same. Let’s trade? ☺️
I think you should ask him why he said that. Was it the room??
I know you’re right but... while I was putting together the deck he said “I don’t care about the words. I’m a big ideas guy.” 🙄 as if the words are independent of the idea. And since that’s the level of intelligence I was dealing with, I didn’t want to call and ask “why did you say that?” Maybe I will if we have to present together again. Especially since it’s eight hours later and I am still mad about it.
v rude!
A lot of ECDs do take a “dear lord don’t read me every detail, please just topline the idea” approach. It might be how those two are used to working.
I get it. I spent three days making a deck everyone said was needed in order to sell the ideas internally. When the projection tv wouldn’t work in the meeting, everyone was like “no deck necessary, just read it, we’ll get it!” And my writer made a joke about a “word being worth a thousand pictures” that I was way too sleep deprived to enjoy.
Maybe your thing was different. But sometimes it does just happen.
I’ve presented to this ECD like five times but w a different AD. Sorry about your presentation mishap. Super bummer.
It wasn’t like I’d written anything long or that we were running out of time, but he just stepped in and decapitated my work. His exact words were, “I don’t think you have to read all that do you?” I felt like since he was in the room maybe he was reading the room but not sure (I’m a freelancer), so I didn’t want to say, “Yes! I want to read all the stuff I put time into.” Can you imagine stepping on someone’s work like that? It’s my first time working w him so I don’t have the relationship where I could call him afterwards and ask WTF. It’s not even a male-female thing. It’s more of a rude, disrespectful, common sense thing. I would never do that! Can you imagine?
I know it’s tough when it’s your words and ideas, but if you’re interested in keeping this gig: hold on tight, let go easy.
Oh yeah, I was all like, “Sure no problem!” But on the inside 🔥
Just remember that if you say something to him now, maybe he will think twice before doing that to someone else in the future.
Maybe or maybe he will think I’m sensitive. I think next time I will clarify that I would like to talk through the videos myself and he can chime in w visual comments.
Tough call since you’re (a) freelancing and (b) presenting on the phone. The latter is always tricky for a writer. As one myself, I usually talk with my AD ahead of time if I’m presenting over the phone to strategize a game plan: I would approach your AD with a tone like you’re just interested in learning how things work there - and mention that you’ve always presented scripts.
Also anyone who says they’re a big idea person who doest care about how big ideas comes to life - with words for example, is someone to watch out for.
