Today, I got a call from Delloite India and HR says that she can only give 30% even though I have mentioned the current offer with 70% hike on my current CTC. HR instinct is that I should be ok with lower CTC part since the offer is from Delloite.

Obviously I am interested to work for Big4 but does it really worth it?

Would like to know your take on this?

The position is for Data Engineer role.

Although D would be a good brand to have on ur cv but 70>30 ... money matters
Unless there is a huge diff between the brands and role offered go with the other offer.
You can always switch back to consulting in future without taking a compensation cut

Lol the same happened to me. GS vs Deloitte. Imagine the guts, she(HR) had the guts to suggest the “culture” at Deloitte is better than anywhere else. These guys think they are MBB league lol.

Every company is good as long as you are having technical and financial growth. Branding k chakkar me kayi log ch***ye ban jate haij

These big 4 companies are living in illution. These are nothing but regular service based companies which used to pay more. Their brand value was created due to their other lines of service like audit, tax etc.. Tech consulting is just another name for IT services.

Yes they can put some value on your resume but that's not worth giving up a good package. Join the company which respects and justifies your skills.

There is no difference at all. If you have to work as a contractor for another product based company, then how does it make any difference?

In this case the only point of difference is the salary offered to you.. that's it.

Even companies like mphasis and synechron have the best clients

Tell the HR to go make Rangoli and go with the higher package.

Have plenty of instances myself where HR proved to be blatantly incompetent but that's a topic for another day.

hr ka nam bharani to nahi tha naa 😁😁

Haan .. ab wo salesforxe ka brand use karke aur kam hikes deti hai.

Go for 70%hike...work there for a yr ( or less your wish)..then it becomes your current ctc...and then apply for big4.

Op this is a good way +1

Seems like this has become a trend in Deloitte (USI)
Recently I had got an offer from Deloitte and they've offered me the same package which I was already getting from another offer. I had clearly mentioned how much I need before the interview itself & still they did like this & wasted my time.

like

Bro D5. I got more than 35L in a service based company. Stayed in Deloitte for couple of years to worsen my career. I got nothing in return. I was hired on 0% hike by Deloitte saying your package is at higer end and we can only match your current since we are Big Brand! Big mistake of my life. So being at Deloitte I can tell you that you should come out of the fairy tale world bro and stop criticising WITCH companies. They can offer you more than what Deloitte can. I am live example. If anyone wants to debate on this. I can. Surely. So there can be few bhakts like you. But there could always be an another story.

HR's se zyada logical mujhe panchayat lagti gaon ki.

If you are getting a better package and role then forget about D. You would have plenty of time to grab that brand name. You ain't going anywhere so don't rush.

HR mentioned 30% because you said 'Delloite'. Try saying 'Deloitte' and see the magic. 😆🤣

You should pick CGI

like

Sure

Go with CGI. Brand doesn't matter everytime. To be honest it's not worth joining Deloitte India. USI would have been a better choice

like

Go for the role/profile than money or brand IMHO.
When the directors and partners were staffing in my project they would specifically tell the vendors to sell the big4 brand to the candidates to justify the lesser salary.
Think about the work you're going to be doing than money or brand. Also depends at what age you are at whether you want more money or a decent role. Also that's subject to your personality and priorities.

Yes don't Join DI , there's a huge difference between DI and USI.
No benefits in DI

like

YOE ? Current Fixed ? Holding offer from which company ?

Thank you

Its quite obvious CGI will fire you in near time.
This year they need you but not next year.
Reason: Your exp and compensation does not match.
CGI does not give that to 10 yrs exp even till last year.So majority of cgi folks are earning less than you and you are on risk.

Had qny big 4 or captive companies you would have joined , you will be earning near to that range but this does not work with other comapnies

Hard to know india specific number. Dont know about that.

YOE and offered Fixed ? % doesn't make any sense.
