Today I just signed an offer with a pay increase of 84%. It came after 4 months of job hunt, getting offers and being rescinded, and even 3 companies that rescinded after I signed. Anxiety hit, i cried, lost sleep, dealt with internal struggles, inferiority complexes when I saw peers moving to their second jobs after a mbb consulting / banking role, but ultimately I am so glad that I did not give up on myself. I still have to worry about the visa part, but for now lm gonna relax for the weekend

Are you supposed to receive a signing bonus for an entry level job at MBB?

I work for a late stage(ipo) start up, earlier this year we were acquired & since then they got rid of our yearly bonuses and gave us an ESOP grant.
2 RIFs later we are almost bare bones. Since we are coming up on our usual yearly evaluations many of us assumed (with multiple conversation from our managers) that pay raises and promotions were due.
In a recent All hands we found out that this year there will be no pay raises nor promotions based off merit. Is it time to jump ship?

On my W2 federal wages are the same as NY state wages, how do I track down my New York w2 wages without access to my detailed timesheets? Really disappointed to see bonuses given out (cash is equivalent to half month salary, equity vested over 5 yes also not great) after getting the 5/5 rating and business doing well overall. Doubting my decision to come to industry. Is this the norm? Feels really low as historically variable has been a big enough component for me to pay down loans/invest.
