Today I turn 24 and officially step into my mid-20s. What did you do in your mid-20s (24-27 yo) that you are proud of or find memorable?

At 24 I got married to a guy I’ve known for 3 months and had a job I hated, was insecure about myself, had some toxic friendships, got a masters in something I didn’t even want to do that much...

Fast forward To the end of my 20s:
Realized I’m gay, had amazing relationships, solidified friendships with those that I grew with as a person, went back to school, moved to another continent, became an art director in NY like I wanted, started being unapologetically me, stopped saying sorry for just existing, started living alone, fell in love with myself and allowed myself to be happy

I’m soon to be mid-30s and even more happened since then. Just enjoy being yourself and don’t force a life on yourself that you don’t truly want. Once you start loving yourself and believing you can do anything— that’s what your life will be like.

AD1 what a wonderful story! Agree 100% with loving/liking yourself. Thanks for sharing!

Between 24 and 27 I spent my time enjoying ‘me time’ I was in a long term relationship between 16 and 22. I had a full time job, got my own place, partied on weekends, focused on career development on weekdays. I travelled with my friends to music festivals and even a 3 week journey in India and Bali— I tried stuff, I hustled, I left everything on the table. I knew one day I was going to get married and have a kid, and I never wanted to be someone who thought; “I didn’t do enough before kids.”

It’s hard right now, thanks to COVID, but that will change, we’ll adapt. You may not be able to party hard in bars or travel across the world, but there are ways to tick a few boxes of, “I’m not doing that with kids so I gotta do it now “.

That’s just me though.

24-27? Hmm, biggest accomplishment would have to be not marrying either of the guys I was dating then.

How did you take the decision? Did you work in consulting before and then made the switch to Asia in the same firm?

I currently work at KPMG in Europe. During my studies I worked in a tech startup in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and am still in contact with them. My dream would be to move back to SEA to countries like Malaysia or Singapore but I am hesitant. I would either move there to pursue consulting or make the switch to the startup/venture development/venture capital scene.

Spent a lot of money on booze, women and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

Looking for some perspectives from the expert 🐠 about buying my first luxury car in this highly inflated market. 2018 a5 sportback prestige at carmax. 1 owner, leased vehicle with 24k miles. It’s pretty well maintained with some minor curb rashes on the rear wheels. Is it worth paying $42K for it with maxcare? Are there any surprises I should brace for? I have owned hondas and toyotas for ever and drove them for over 150K miles. I love the hatchback styling & convenience. Not an suv person
