Thanks! Accounting manager for one of the sub-dept. within the accounting group. Not GL accounting or anything boring like that lol.

Hopefully where you're will allow a work/life balance... the grass isn't always greener; but glad to hear you got out of public accounting. Buy some stock and earn your options, instead of making some prick partner rich.

You earned the peace of mind.

Were you in audit or tax before? What will you be doing now?

How much did you make and what's the new salary?

Congrats! 25k increase is great no matter what. When things slow down and you question yourself, just print your pay stubs lol. Kidding. You'll doubt yourself but that's normal and this seems like a great opportunity so, again, congrats.

I know there's no guarantee that the grass is greener...but I've done my due diligence and research with the new place. Should be challenging, educational, and way less hours lol. I always love PA, which is how I stayed til manager, but I'm ready for change.

I’m graduating with a masters in finance this fall. I just accepted an offer with Unilever as graduate finance intern. The problem is, i feel that I may be making a career mistake by entering the industry without having banking/consulting experience first. Prior to grad school, I worked 1 year in sales, 2 years in WM, and have a bachelors in economics. TY

Can't decide if this thinking is crazy or smart: Staying in consulting for another 1-1.5 years for good maternity healthcare benefits and smoother pathway to ramp off and back on work, with opportunity to extend leave further with limited professional risk (e.g., in corporate a backfill might become your permanent fill). Worried that this A.) could result in staying much longer than planned B.) would still ultimately result in crazy consulting hours and C.) wouldn't go as smoothly as idealized
