It bothers me when people use the terms “firm” and “client.”

How do you set time aside to build your portfolio when you work a normal job?

The feedback I keep getting is my case studies aren’t detailed enough… I get that… however when I work with clients my focus is the user and the client… I don’t sit here and try and create case studies… I’m about results for my client…

So how do you build your case studies?

Planning has been weaponized, mainly here to make sound strategic that which isn't. We're good at it and have it in our title, so off we're sent to the client/creatives/pitch, to sell. Feel the same?

I just got assigned to a case that was handled by an associate who’s leaving the firm. The partner wasn’t involved in the case, and told me that he wouldn’t be really involved at this point too until necessary. Since I told the client (the point of contact in a big company), he has been “yelling” at me in his emails for things that aren’t my fault. How do you “not let” this kind of stuff get to you? I know that I have nothing to be concerned as I didn’t do anything wrong, but it still upsets me.

Anyone else on a project with constant anxiety knowing it's all going to come crashing down (and yes, I've raised these concerns to leadership many times)

My son has been recently diagnosed with autism and I feel depressed and lost. I also have a newborn at home and was going to get back to work when she is 6 mo. Now with this diagnosis, he will need numerous hours of therapy. Does this mean that I will likely have to leave EY? His dad can help driving him to the therapy, etc., but do you think I need to give up my career at this point?
