Nothing irks me more than analysts on the bench that take a day to respond to emails. Scrap that, any analysts that take more than a day to respond. Your client's CEO and VPs flooding your inbox???
Do condos need plywood subfloor under engineered wood for sound insulation? In the middle of a project to replace carpet, and condo guys keep stalling the project coz we aren't installing a subfloor.
Anyone had success negotiating extra points to have the team stay at a hotel for a long term client engagement (e.g., double points for the team)? Trying to negotiate with a Hyatt right now and would love any tips.
What could be more annoying than getting put on a project that has no chance of seeing the light of day? Working the weekend on it.
My partner has requested that I start acting as a manager on this project. I’ve been a senior for a whole of 4 months. I don’t have the skill set or desire yet to be a manager. Will telling him that hurt my career. I need to lower expectations a bit.
The Senior reporting into me has clearly been taking advantage of being semi on the bench even though we are working on a small project. It's 10 a.m. on the East Coast. Wake up, John Doe!!
If only I could say this to my current project team
What have your experiences been like switching from agency to client side? Do you like it? How long have you been in both sides? How did you get in? Through a recruiter or was there a specific brand you wanted to work at and you reached out to them? What made you want to switch? Or switch back? Any thoughts!
Team & client do a LOT of dinners/happy hours and I am very particular about getting in a workout every evening (morning workouts make me nauseous) has anyone faced issues skipping many team events?
How long does tcs take to provide experience letter. My current organization which I joined 4 weeks back are asking for experience letter without which they are not onboarding me to any project. Has anyone faced similar issues.
Stupid question — please be delicate, I’m new. I just started my first freelance gig with an agency and I’m in the system as a temporary/contract employee and I’ve filled out a weekly timesheet. Do I need to / not need to invoice at the end of the project? Assume no, as that’s what the payroll paperwork + formal timesheets are for but I wanna make sure I’m not missing a step.
6 months in at a new firm. 4th year attorney. Completely new practice area from what I did previously. The partner often sends the random potential client call ins my way. Many times, they have questions related to things I’ve never done and he only provides guidance if I can pull him away from something else to ask. I’m super low on hours but feel that it would be ethically wrong to take on a case involving an issue Im totally unfamiliar with and not confident handling. Wrong approach?
Freelancing for the first time. How do you respond to what’s your availability when you have more than one project?

A colleague shared with me the presentation they have prepared for their promotion case. I worked with them on multiple projects during the year and I can clearly see that some of the claims on the deck are wild exaggeration or lies. For example, managed changes in scope for Project X including contract changes. Plot twist: there never was a change of scope for Project X and the contract is exactly the same. How can people be so dishonest? How far can you go before truth catching up?
Any tips for navigating client office politics? I’m working on a process improvement project involving multiple teams and one team feels threatened that my client team is taking work from them (and that their jobs will be in jeopardy as a consequence), and they are slowing down progress which prevents me from doing my job. Client execs are aware but have their hands tied. What’s the best way around this?
I think (fingers crossed) that I am about to get a job offer for a management role. It would be a 45 percent pay increase and I honestly might be able to negotiate it to up to 55, but I just don’t feel excited about it. It’s a smaller company then where I am now, but still a decent size and great reputation, but the team is much smaller. I really want to be more excited because I know it’s a good opportunity. Any advice?
In the past year we switched to wearing jeans in the office and are now allowed to work remote from home when we don't have to be onsite. Just curious if this is standard practice now in the industry.

Anyone ever dealt with fraud at Marcus? Had to call three times to get them to even initiate the process, now I have to mail in a written statement, and it can take up to 45 days for a decision. My university credit union can take care of this online in an hour. Had Marcus two years no complaints, but current setting up HM Bradley.
14 people on EY USA had been barred from coming to usa. Who knows, thet were out of country for vacation, maybe meeting an ill relative or even attending a funeral. But that's none of my business
Do you consider a retention bonus as a counteroffer if you did not mention you have an offer from another company?
Hi any one has given interview for Cyient in networking profile If yes please suggest me what should I prepare ?? And what should I say about expected salary ?
If anyone is in privacy / incident response, I’d love to compare comp stats. I joined my firm as a complete newbie and didn’t have lots of leverage but now that I have a successful year under my belt, I want to be as prepared as possible going into reviews.
What is the work culture like in Accenture CN?
Just received an offer from another big 4 firm that was substantially less than I currently make (more than 10%). Do you guys think it is worth negotiating or should I just pass on it?
Not cpa related, but if anyone is applying to pwc start internship 2021 and you identify as a minority you can "present yourself as a minority" and a recruiter will refer you to a web page to see if you meet this criteria. Basically it looks like you'll get preferential treatment if you meet the criteria. Firm is really pushing diversity it would seem
Why do companies that clearly desperately need people think that assigning a take home case study that takes 10 hours will help their cause.... I will drop out in a heartbeat lol
Does everyone who joins Big 4 have a 2 years and done mindset or just me? I feel like I just joined Kentucky and enjoying the ride until draft day.
