I see many posts "How many points?". Someone should create a central spreadsheet for those scenarios and also state what is the best channel to get the pts? Ticketing agent, reward hotline, etc???
Quick poll. Do you guys use any tools to get visibility on client calendars today? E.g calendly?
I currently work in Marketing for a residential construction company. One of my main responsibilities is networking with realtors & lenders (planning events, coordinating office presentations, etc.) in order to network with them so they will bring their clients to our sales team. I’ve realized I can make a lot more money working in insurance as an insurance broker focused on realtors & lenders. I would love to hear the good, the bad, the ugly, of working in insurance + any tips you can share!

Curious - How much do y’all contribute to your kids’ 529 plans annually? I’m thinking $2k is a good amount.
Also, what is your target balance once your children reach college age?
I love my career, but it's not the only thing in the world that matters to me. My direct supervisor has been trying to schedule meetings with me well after normal working hours... like at 7/8 p.m. My personal life deserves to be a priority too, so I've been saying no, but it's obviously viewed as a lack of caring. How should I handle this?

Can anyone at Amazon give me an idea of salary band for the Associate Solutions Architect role?
The billing guidelines for my client say they will not pay for parking or speeding tickets if you get one on a trip for them (I’m serious). Every warning has a story to tell, but I guess this is why people don’t like lawyers?
Does anyone else just have one day a week (Saturday for me) where they are just a full zombie and have to decompress and sleep from all of the burn out?

Any big law lawyers here from Toronto, Canada??
Currently in ID. A recruiter reached out with a plaintiffs side property/personal injury offer. The pay is $100-200k depending on experience. Since I can’t get anymore details out of the recruiter, and don’t have any knowledge of that side of the aisle l, is there a catch here? I always figured plaintiffs side had a lower base pay but got the real money from settlements.
What do you do when you follow a partner’s instructions to the T, but they end up criticizing your work product and by extension your competency? Do you politely push back or just take it?
Recommendations on books for a new family law lawyer? My friend recently started and I want to give her a book to help her out. She practices in FL if that makes any difference.
I switched two years ago from regional real estate/energy to a local small, but established residential real estate practice. While I’ve gained so much practical experience and run my own book here, I want to shift to a non-traditional remote role in real estate but keep getting turned down. I have strong credentials but I’m worried this small firm experience is killing my marketability to large companies.
Have you ever reached out directly to an office's managing partner about a job posting, rather than applying through the website? If so, what did you say in your email?
Does anyone here practice cannabis law? How candid are you when filing federal documents (i.e. EIN for the entity)? Is there an issue with a company disclosing that it’s a cannabis business or should the activities of the business be described in broader terms?
Part of my practice is outside GC services for Fintechs. I get a retainer and effectively am their go to. I have this one client who is very needy and effectively needs college level classes on basic financial services questions. What’s the best way to handle?
I feel like my billable hourly rate is way too low. I know I’m only a second year at a boutique firm but for some clients I’m billed at only $175. I also have an MBA - am I crazy to think my hour should be “worth” more?
What are the salary ranges like in the Las Vegas, Nevada area? Can you make big money with good work life balance?
Received a 15% increase from current firm, considering lateraling for 60%+ increase. But at my current firm, I love my partners, work is okay, WLB is good. Any advice? Any support/encouragement to still lateral?
Are there any good M&A/PE/Corporate firms in Las Vegas? Can you comment or DM if you have any insights on LV Corporate including environment, pay, etc. Thank you!
Can we talk about the lawyering in the Johnny Depp v. Amber Heard trial?
I can’t be the only following this case incessantly….
Has anyone switched from big law to government and are you happy you did? Interviewing for a government job next week.
My laptop died. IT needs to check it physically. I’m 300 miles away from the nearest office and 1000 miles away from my office. I’ll be driving there first thing tomorrow - if you were a partner, would you be pissed that I’ll probably have to take a day off even if I’m at an office? Is it my fault that I’m out of town?
Any thoughts on Phillips Lytle? If you could please provide insight on culture/billable requirements? Thank you.
Recruiter that I talked to a little bit a few months ago but never ended up applying through (I didn’t apply anywhere) just reached back out to gauge interest. I said only if he can find me something remote. No response since. Well well well, I guess the ghoster has become the ghostee 🤷🏻♀️
I am a post bar graduate and currently seeking employment. I did not graduate from a top tier school, but I did graduate in the top third of my class as a dual-degree graduate. About a week ago, a partner at a big law firm connected with me on LinkedIn. He asked if I had a job lined up. I told him no and he responded that I should let him know if there is anything his firm or he can do to help me. We have a meeting with each other in two weeks. Is this a big law opportunity?

It’s always hard. I’ve been a lawyer for 39 years and I dread the long weekends. I love the time off, but going back is awful.
Some of it gets better as you get older. Fewer things bother you, but your friends start to get sick and … yes, it’s inevitable. You also know how to do more things so work becomes less stressful.
So how can you make it better? Enjoy each moment. Try not to think about Monday on Sunday afternoon. And if you’re lucky enough to get a four day weekend — savor it, make it last, create memories that can carry you through those deep, dark nights in the office!
“Don’t let Monday ruin your Sunday” is one of my favorite sayings
