Took my first pill of Vyvanse 20 mg this morning. Recently diagnosed. Never been on ADHD meds. What should I expect in terms of effects? Took the pill at 7 am. Its 11 am now. Dont feel anything different. Had a cup of coffee too. Any tips would be much appreciated. What should I watch out for? Trouble sleeping, racing heart, mood changes?

What about positive effects? Do you start seeing effects (increased focus) right away or it takes time?

You're fine but just a heads up you should cut out the coffee so you can see what the Vyvanse does by itself, and then add it back later when you have a good understanding of its effects on your system. For some people on stimulants, coffee has a synergistic effect. For others, it actually cancels out the stimulant effect. The two work well together, but this way you can rule out whether you're feeling that way because of other things that you are on. Also, are you taking ANY other vitamins, and what did you eat/drink for breakfast? Expect an increase in focus, drive, and a slight sense of euphoria. Also expect that the first time will be more impressive with those benefits than subsequent times you take it. You might have trouble sleeping depending when you take it, so get vitamin c and melatonin at the pharmacy, take when you're ready to call it a night.

Envious. Had to go off bc I’m pregnant, but Vyvanse has worked wonders for me. Takes 2 hrs to feel full effects. Coffee helped enhance effects for me, but not the case for everyone.

Very important: remember to eat and move your body. Both will help manage the crash at the end of the day, which can make some people irritable (I get irritable for sure, but it’s worth it 😈😈😈)

Do a half caff for now. I reduced coffee intake.
Get an Apple Watch or Oura so you can monitor the heart rate if that is a concern. Feel free to reach out via IM if you have questions. Life saving med for me, I’m glad I’m on it. 2 years so far.

I think everyone else mentioned some good points. I typically feel less anxious and the negative voice in my head calms down, which lets me get work down with minima stress
