Took no vacation this summer. Everyone else did. Was going to take today off. Guess what I’m doing? It starts with a W.

How does one tell their boss (owner of the company) that you are burnt out? The sheer volume of work is exhausting and I haven’t taken a true vacation as we are a small company so if something urgent comes to my email I feel like I must respond. I was given an additional title and more responsibilities last year as well but only a 3% raise for it.

I have an opportunity for a new position with higher pay, fully remote with the option of going into the local office whenever I want, unlimited PTO, within a growing industry and in a role that I could then easily transition into pretty much any tech company - but its a drop in title. I’d be going from Director to senior manager - but this is also a much bigger company. I’m fine with it but I’m wondering how it might look on my résumé in the future. Has anyone deal w this before? Any thoughts?

24/m I’m feeling really on edge lately. I’m not sure why. I literally yelled like a lunatic at the teams notification sound a few minutes ago
I’m not sure what’s wrong. But I think I’m frustrated with work and maybe the city I live in. I moved far away and I made a few friends but not a lot. I took a vacation a few weeks ago and thought it would help but I think it made it worse. It’s so cold outside that it’s hard to exercise. What would you all suggest

I’m currently 29 weeks pregnant and looking for a new role (13YOE, tech/ad tech in my last few roles). I took time off at the beginning of the year for a travel sabbatical with husband then found out we were expecting when we returned this summer. I’ve been looking for a new role since then but struggling in this job market. I’m feeling defeated, thinking there’s no way I can land a job now then go on Mat leave soon after (due mid Jan). At the same time, I want to secure a role for my career.

Got an offer for an in-house role and they only have 10 days off for vacation with a few days additional for sick time off.

For me it’s a major concern, has anyone successfully negotiated additional vacation time and if they have how did they go about it. Was it a successful outcome ?

Ever since I started in advertising I have been given polar opposite critiques on my work. Some say I’m great while others say this isn’t the job for you. How do you keep telling yourself that you are worth it when a current manager doesn’t believe in you? I can’t seek out a different team as this is a small agency with a team of 20 and one creative director. I know feedback is subjective but it can be hard when you have one boss and they think you have been missing it lately.
