An old boss of mine said “you work for yourself and no company can ever guarantee they will be loyal to you” . Be honest with the first company but take the offer that matches your skills and money requirements.
Leave. They wouldn’t hesitate to fire you if they needed to so why feel guilty about leaving
Healthcare is a small world... proceed with caution. Depends on who you burn and how vindictive they are, you could find yourself unemployed.
No one cares about you at the moment (except may be 1-2 people), so there are not many bridges to burn. Jump the ship.
If you’re going to leave do it now. Don’t wait any longer because firms invest a lot of time and energy on boarding new team members and you don’t want to waste their time
When it rains it pours right? I’d say go for it. Just be open and honest about the decision with ur current firm and no one can really fault you.
What were you doing the last 7 days then?
Agree with proceed with caution. When bridges burn, there is always a chance to regret it later. One could say you didn't get all options which can reflect decision making skills negatively.
Do I take the better offer and burn the bridge, or suck it up for a year? These firms don't compete, but have partnered in past, so makes for awkward situation...
Go!
I agree with MD1...healthcare consulting is a small world and everyone knows someone. The top execs at small boutique firms are probably more connected than most Bc that’s how they make their coin—on leveraging those relationships. I am not saying you have to stay, but MD1 said it best—proceed with caution.
