Took the GMAT without any preparation and scored 590. I am almost 40 now but I want to pursue MBA. Is there any good colleges which would accept my score or do you guys feel I should retake the test?

If you are almost 40 I would consider an executive MBA, and most of them have GMAT waivers or accept the executive assessment which is supposedly easy to study for

I think you should retake to at least 650 to be competent. Shouldnt be that hard if you put effort into it

Just curious - Why would you want to go to an mba where it’s more of less children there making a pre mba salary of probably $90k on average? Emba makes more sense for a proper peer group

That’s true M1. @D3 - it’s more of a personal accomplishment

Retake it. Try to shoot above at least 650

like

Op if just for the accomplishment then you should just apply and get in and not go then. It’s not like graduating from hbs is a real accomplishment. Getting in is the accomplishment

funny

why 2 year MBA and not just executive?

I was thinking more of going part time - evening/weekend.

Retake. Don't bother with an MBA unless it is a top ten school

That seems like a stretch

Hey fam. Appreciate your inputs on this: I used to be a software developer and currently work as a tech risk consultant (CISA, CRISC certified). Have completed a couple of cyber courses but do not have prior cyber experience. Most cyber sec job postings require prior experience in cloud, aws, devops etc. Applied to a couple of roles but no avail. A) Can I start a career in cyber security without prior experience? B) Will CISSP or relevant cyber certifications help?

Hi all! For an experienced hire as a Human Capital Consultant at Deloitte, what should I expect the salary/sign-on bonus to be at a MCOL city? I have approx. 3.5 YOE (non-consulting), MBA and MS degree (non target school) and also SHRM certified (which is probably irrelevant for the role but thought I’d share anyways). Already did my research but the range is kind of all over the place for experienced hires so just want to have a ballpark. Thanks!

I am looking for some advice or opinions to apply for consulting jobs right now. I currently work at a mid-sized/regional firm, but plan move to a different city later this year. I have ~4 yr xp working on system implementations, IT policies/controls, and BPO, but my undergrad GPA wasn't the best (I did become a CPA and CISA though). Should I try to apply to big 3/big 4? Stay mid-sized? Get an MBA or Masters? Move and pray? Thanks in advanced for any comments!

Applying to T15 in R2. Currently have a 700 GMAT (43Q, 41V) after taking once. Even if I raise my quant to 47, which would be impressive for me, I’ll still be at a 700 (possibly 710). 3.6 undergrad GPA. Worth retaking? Or just focus on the rest of my applications?
