Hi all, I'm considering moving to the US from Europe. I've got 2 years of mgmt consulting exp at MBB and operating exp at a startup, and a European passport. Will I be at a disadvantage during the application process if I do require a visa in the US? If so, what are the options to break into the US? Targeting strategy and ops roles. Thanks for your tips!
Anyone completed PMP certification? I am just getting started. Preparing eligibility documents at this point. Need some guidance on this step and which is the best place to get 35 hours of PMP training?
Does anyone know if work extracurricular activities count for MBA applications in lieu of volunteer activities (e.g., Committees advising leadership, mentoring responsibilities for interns, etc.)
Anyone has experiences to share on exec MBA at 37-38 years old..as a SM not sure if there is significant career upside in the short run..thoughts?
Hey hey all you lovely people, hope you're excited for the weekend! So this question's for a friend- would anybody have an insight on entry level MBB/T2 consultant salaries in Dubai/the Middle East? I've been told that the numbers on Glassdoor are outdated, is that true?
Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
Those who want to join FAANG: don’t you think that the upward mobility is limited? Thousands of super ambitious MBB background people with top credentials joined these firms over the last decade.
General management consulting is super interesting to me and I could see myself doing it as a career. My biggest gripe is the WLB at MBB. Would smaller middle market firms offer similarly interesting projects with more reasonable hours?

Went to a top uni but got average grades - was perhaps overly committed to volunteering plus military reserve service inc 2 deployments. Looking at moving from big 4 strategy & transformation consulting to a T2/ MBB with 2 YOE. How much will they care about grades? It’s the major thing putting me off. Kearney McKinsey & Company Boston Consulting Group
Mba hires, are you jealous of your ug hire coworkers? I mean they’re doing it younger and have the flexibility to not pay for the mba
What sort of roles in pharma manufacturing can a consultant with 3 YOE post MBA (also have an MS in pharmaceutical science, but no PhD) realistically seek to target in big Pharma? No engineering experience. All professional manufacturing experience has been in life sciences supply chain consulting (pharma mostly).
On getting into FAANG. For those who made the switch, what are the typical roles from, say, MBB? How did you go about it? What's needed on the resume if I'm planning 12 months out? Lvl and pay?
Hi team, got a question about cissp cpe credit. Do I need to 40 hours a year for 3 years or just 120 hours in 3 years. First year anniversary is coming up in 2 weeks and have not done any cpe credit yet. 😅
What’s the difference in the types of exit opps between MBB and B4 consultants? Is the gap really as big as people make it or does it mainly come down to networking, relevant skills, and luck?
Have a interview with LinkedIn for Startegic Ops Manager. There internal consulting group. Has anyone interviewed with them? Do they give MBB level cases for the interview?
Any active ACN fish know if ACN issues Mac’s these days? Looking at a possible return and wondering if I’m back to PC land.
Anyone have any advice on how to unlearn some of the unhealthy work habits one has developed from a previous job? I moved in-house from a big agency a couple months ago (best decision I’ve made), but I still feel like my work style is still the same as it was when I was working at the agency (ie: being a pushover, afraid of saying no, working late, etc). I’m working on it in therapy, but curious to hear everyone’s experience here and how they were able to change these habits.
Anyone heard of CrowdHealth for health insurance? Seems pretty good for a freelancer and someone who doesn’t usually go to the doctor that much but wants to be insured. https://www.joincrowdhealth.com/
Anyone know how much the settlement for the Taylor Bean Whitaker lawsuit was? Just curious about the impact on the company's overall health.
Anyone worried about layoffs? I saw a post about Deloitte laying off 5000 employees ... I know EY saying no lay off this year but what about other firms?
Wondering what the current market value for Senior Account Executives is? If anyone has any insight, please include where you’re based. I’m based in DFW but willing to relocate.
Alvarez & Marsal - What’s the average/target utilization (billable utilization) percentage for a Senior Associate in PEPI?
Anyone looking for freelance (fully remote) mid-senior CW? Based in PST time zone if that helps. Thanks!
Any thoughts on the Lo & Sons Pearl bag? Functionality? Style? I’m not particularly trendy just want something that looks good and is functional.
Does anyone have any insight on interviewing, culture, and salaries at Compass for the Sr. Associate level?
My lease for a decent 1BR in LIC was $2350/month. Without the COVID discount, it is increasing to $2640/month. Thoroughly enjoyed living here, should I suck it up and stay? My new role will also be perma remote in NY area so was considering moving a bit more suburb near the area if the rent could be drastically reduced.
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Free and Reduced Lunch, pensions, health insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, National Guard, caring for your neighbor, and PUBLIC EDUCATION. That’s just a small list of things I’m told I should hate because they’re all socialist. I’m not at all sorry to report that I’m FOR all of those things. Call me whatever you want.
Considering going into FP&A because I hear a lot of people like it.... I haven't done much with it so trying to figure out if I'd like it or not. Is it like managerial or cost accounting classes in college? Or similar to finance classes in college (vs accounting classes)? Or anything to compare it to? I've done engagement economics analysis and budget to actual and enjoyed that, but not sure if that's even remotely similar? What's your experience been?
